I common canard is that Jesus never took a position on homosexuality.
Why would he have to? He came to preach The Word (The Torah) and that is quite explicit on its views of rights and wrongs.

"I common canard is that Jesus never took a position on homosexuality."

Actually, he did. In both the Gospels of Mark and Matthew he condems "pornea". This word is generally translated "fornication" but the Greek work means all wrongful or unlawful sex. In the Jewish culture Jesus preached in this would unquestionably have included homosexual sex.

Matthew 10:15. He compared refusing the Gospel to homosexual sin, the punishment for refusal of the Gospel being even more unbearable than the consequences suffered by the morally corrupt cities.

This is where He mentioned punishment for the sin of practicing homosexuality. God is consistent. He actually has a real problem with any type of sexual activity outside the marriage of a man and a woman, including homosexuality, bestiality, fornication and adultery, as was mentioned by our friendly duck hunter.

common canard is that Jesus never took a position on homosexuality.

Yes, the atheists, sexual perverts, and the Left have been propagating that lie for the last few years. Here is why it is false:

1. Jesus is God. He is the Son of Man, part of the Trinity, and co-equal to the Father. (John 10:30).

2. The Bible is God's inerrant Word, and in the Bible God clearly calls Homosexuality a detestible sin. (Genesis 19:5-8, Leviticus 18:22-23 and 20:13, 1 Timothy 1:9-10, 1 Corinthians 6:9, and Romans 1: 26-27).

3. Christ clearly said He came not to abolish any part of Scripture, but to also fulfill it. (Matthew 5:18). Therefore Christ directly stated that the condemnation against Homosexuality was true.

4. Christ chastized so-called learned men for not following the Scriptural descriptions of marriage of one man and one woman. ("Haven't you read," He replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female'" - Matthew 19:4). Christ also discussed marriage and divorce or men and women clearly, and distinctly.

5. Christ spoke openly of sin, Hell, and punishment for those who disobey God and attack the Truth. He spoke more about Hell than He did about Heaven.

The lies about Christ and His supposed "approval" of Homosexuality by ommission are wrong and are deliberate falsehoods.

He never stated that the Torah’s words on sexual morality were null and void either, so keep that in mind. Adultery, fornication, and homosexual behavior, which were wrong under the Torah, would still be wrong.
