Montana. True. Yes the women in Manhattan tend to wear shorter skirts to work than the rest of the country :) And New Years Eve is heart attack time :)

I always sniffle there. ;)

The Reagan Library will be the only thing I miss about California. After I get my son and soon-to-be grandchild out of there.

He can really cut to the chase. He does a great job quickly giving the evidence to support his views, a straight-forward summary, and in simple terms. Not the typical political/electioneering wishy-washy answers.

They pulled out the money quote and put it in the headline. Ted's actual remarks may have been a little more meandering:

We hear a lot of talk today about a governor or a senator. Now, I would note, for those with some historical recall, that it’s proven a convenient argument. That is an argument that gets echoed by a lot of the Washington establishment. In prior elections; for example, in 1980, the strong conservative running in the race was Ronald Reagan. You didn’t hear ‘we need a governor’ then, because he was a governor. So none of those voices said, ‘We need a governor.’ They said, ‘You know what? We need a former congressman, named George Herbert Walker Bush. Likewise, in 2008, the moderate choice was a senator, John McCain. Go back and look at the TV discussions to find any of these voices going on television, saying ‘we need a governor’ in 2008. Then, the choice of those voices was that candidate, so that argument didn’t get used.

In this race, most of the establishment moderates are coming from the ranks of the governors. And so suddenly, every time you turn on Fox News, there’s some D.C. greybeard saying, ‘It’s got to be a governor! Got to be a governor. Those are the only choices imaginable!’ Here’s what history teaches us. About half of the presidents have been governors; half of them, senators. There have been good and bad presidents who were both. Jimmy Carter was a governor. He was a trainwreck. Obama is not a disaster because he was a senator. Obama is a disaster because he’s an unmitigated socialist, what he believes is profoundly dangerous, and he’s undermined the Constitution and the role of America in the world. I think the test we ought to apply is not what job title a person had. I think the test we ought to have is: Who has stood up and fought?

Experience is always an issue. And look at how the voters answered the question, not at who was or wasn't asking it.

Nobody said "we need a former congressman" when Bush ran against Reagan. Bush's people thought his Washington experience counted. Reagan's supporters thought his experience as governor counted and the party agreed with them.

When McCain ran against Bush, there was concern that Bush didn't have enough political experience. In the end he prevailed, perhaps because he had been a governor, rather than a senator. How well that worked out is hard to say, but voters did choose a governor over a senator.

So now, with the experience of Obama uppermost in many people's minds the question comes up again -- is a few years in the Senate really adequate preparation for the White House? It's still on the table and it's still one Cruz and the other senators have to deal with.

If the media tries to ignore Cruz he pokes one of favorites in the eye...

Don’t worry he will call them all out eventually Dems, Rino’s and whoever has tried to bring our Free Republic down, he plans on kicking them out and bringing Americans to Congress when he moves into the White House.

You are being too kind with Articles of Impeachment.

This traitor in the White House needs to be tried for treason and then the sentence as defined by our laws for this crime, if found guilty carried out.

I like your tag line but the ol’ hanging tree needs to have it’s limbs tested every once in a while too brother/sister.

“Ted Cruz looks uncanningly like Joe McCarthey.”

Yes, now that you mention it, he does look like Joe. That is not a bad thing. ;-)

THey are using Communism, Alinsky, whatever you want to call it to allow Islam to conquer America. They know Americans will not accept Sharia government, but using communism as a stepping stone to tear down our institutions, our Constitution and flood our country with Muslims.

Why don't you exert YOUR influence on the House to bring forth articles of impeachment?

What an asinine thing to say. Am I a member of Congress? Are you aware, by any means, of exactly what I have written to my Congressmen/Senator? No. Senator Cruz has far more influence then any I might have, even after having written and called my representatives.

Hopefully Cruz is smart enough to refuse any offers of coffee or water from the debate host’s staff just prior to the debates.

“Ted Cruz looks uncanningly like Joe McCarthey.”

That statement is lost on a huge portion of the populace.

Joe McCarthy was right, and Ted Cruz could explain why.
This is what I like about Cruz.

You have no idea how much influence you potentially have. Stop whining for Ted Cruz to fix your world, and do something about it yourself.
