The facts are the facts. A US carrier battle group does whatever it is ordered to do. Who is gonna stop it ? So we must assume it successfully completed its mission. The result of which appears to be the safe docking of Iranian warships. The Houtis are enemies of Al Qeada and ISIS so not far fetched that they are allies in that fight in Yemen. The crooks running DC are just playing both sides of the coin.

So the timing appears to be US carrier group arrives. The Saud’s stop air war. Iranian ships dock. Saud’s restart air war. We must have placed a temporary no fly zone over Yemen to allow safe passage for Persians. Obama did say they were there to protect shipping.

Don't think they've docked, yet.

Do you realize you're suggesting we are militarily taking the side of Iran against our regional allies? Even Carter didn't do that.

An outrageous thing to say, think I suggested the same thing yesterday on another thread.

I'm not privy to what's going on, but if the ships dock without Saudi/Egyptian interference, the world will believe we backed our allies down. With military force. Hope that's not what's happening.

Yes, well I’ve got a lot of confidence in Obama’s ability to screw things up across the board.

What would have had the US Navy do? Get into a shooting war to support the Saudis? I think not. Anyway, about ten minutes after we start shooting, the missiles would hit the Kingdom’s oil harbors. What would THAT do to our economy.

Yemen is not our problem. If the KSA wants to go in there, have at it. And it seems they do.

The whole thing is about to blow up. I don’t see where we need to START it.

It is a four way cluster puck. Arabs against Persians against Terrorists against Israel. Arabs and Persians are both fighting the Al Qeada and ISIS terrorists. Russia just named ISIS their number one enemy. So US forces are supporting both the Arabs and the Persians. Hey, that is the genuis of allowing the country to be run by a community organizer.

You know what's ironic? We should be on the same side with Iran on many issues. We should be helping Iran back that brutal SOB in Syria who goes by the name of Assad. That dude is a secular strongman who protects the Christians.

Oh, Iran is supporting the Iraqi government against the ISIS. Yeah, we hate those guys too.

What else? The Houtis' greatest enemy is Al Qaeda and ISIS. So why aren't we bff with Iran right now?

Well that is probably what Val Jar is whispering into Obama’s teleprompter. Unfortunately Iran also supportd Hezbollah and caused the loss of numerous US troops in Iraq. Not to mention they want nukes and call the US and Israel Satan and vow to destroy us both. Iran was an ally until it was overtaken by religious zealots during Carters last years. The Arabs can live without nukes if the Persians do not get them. Unless of course you believe the tinfoil theories that the recent massive mushroom cloud like explosion in Yemen a couple days ago was a Saudi tactical nuke.

If the Iranians would like to have their navy kill muslims in Yemen, we should stay out of the way. How can this be bad?

Maybe the muslims in Yemen kill some Iranians or sink their ships.

Seems like a win-win no matter what happens.

Dude. He’s going to escort them with our military. That’s what is going to happen. Or assist in their Yemen fight.

"Yemen is not our problem. If the KSA wants to go in there, have at it. And it seems they do."

Au Contrair mon ami. We definitely have an interest in what goes on in Yemen. All of this instability in Yemen has allowed Al Quada in the Arabian Penninsula to get stronger. Instead of running for their lives in dread fear of drones they can now rest a lot easier and start to actually plan terroristic acts. Keep in mind that Nidal Hassan of Fort Hood massacre infamy drew his inspiration from them. They have shown the ability already to strike us in our own country. Not the theororetical strike that ISIS posses, but an actual strike.

If you allow the Houthis in Yemen to take control it could possibly destabilize Saudi Arabia. If the house of Saad falls (and they have a new king which means he has not consolidated his power yet) who knows what crazies could take over that country.

The law of uninstended consequences is already playing out in the Med from deposing Gaddafy. It's playing out in the Arab spring and Syria. Do we want to spin the wheel and see what comes up in Saudi Arabia?

AQAP is more interested in destabilizing the KSA. I understand that AQ attacked us, but the fact that almost all of the attackers were from SA tells me something about how SA feels about us as well.

The middle east is a mess. It has been since long before 2001. The US keeps making the same mistakes, over and over. We think that a democracy or republic form of government will work over there. Clearly with their penchant for corruption and tribal BS that is not possible.

We dug ourselves a hole. As Powell said, we broke it—we bought it.

When you dig yourself a hole, the first thing you do to solve the problem is to stop digging.

I think a lot of this is Obama’s fault. But I think getting ourselves into another mess in the middle east is not in our national interest.
