CHANNELVIEW, Texas – The pregnant Popeyes manager, who was fired less than 36 hours after a robbery, has been offered her job back.

Marissa Holcomb, who is a mother of three with a fourth child on the way, had a meeting with Z & H Foods owner Amin Dhanani on Wednesday, a day after our original story aired of her firing.

"He just apologized and pretty much offered me if I wanted to go back to his business and work there again," she said.

Holcomb says she was originally terminated because she refused to pay back money that was stolen during a robbery March 31. Dhanani argued she was fired because she broke police multiple times by leaving too much money in the register.

If he fired her for having too much money in the ‘till against policy, you wouldn’t have gotten anywhere with your suit.

If he fired her for not paying it back, you would have him over a barrel.

Can you ask the Freeper why I’m the only non-black guy in line on Tuesdays?

lol, I’m not sure he would know the answer to that, he’s a share holder, heh

is there a problem with black guys being in line on Tuesday?

because that comes across as a really racist question, but maybe I’m taking it wrong.

If she had the till cut down to $100 dollars like she was supposed to, the robber would have taken the money and left just like he did.

It was during business hours. He wasn’t going to hang round.

I’m not advocating she argue with him or refuse to give him all them money in the till.

You’re acting as if I sad she should tell him to go to hell, and refuse to give him the money in the till. I didn’t.

I don’t want anything to happen to her any more than you do.

Her risk would not have been larger if she had follow company policy

Policy? You have no idea what you're talking about. Their little policy is not even the issue here. It's gone waaay beyond that.

BTW, why did the owner or spokesperson refuse to talk to the press in the video? Are they afraid of really bad press?

Too late for that too.

Holcomb says she was originally terminated because she refused to pay back money that was stolen during a robbery March 31.

This is why he wouldn't talk to the press. You can't fire someone for that.

Dhanani argued she was fired because she broke police multiple times by leaving too much money in the register.

This is a legitimate beef from his point of view. Once he had fired her for not paying the money back, this is a mute point.

He blew it. He fired her

Where ya getting all this BS?

Clerks and many others have been shot to death after handing over every penny they had. Happens all the time in armed robberies. In the senseless murder districts some get shot to death and not dime is taken from the till.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

You are clearly grasping at straws.

People have been blown away for turning over far more than she did. That’s part of the point.

A shooting isn’t contingent on the amount of the take. It’s the nitwit shooter.

If she gives him all that’s in till, he’s going to run away.

You have no way of knowing at all, that he would shoot her if she had the till at the proper level.

Haha. My son’s place of employment sent flowers to my hubbie when he had open heart surgery. For a day we tried to figure out who Otto Masters really wanted to send his flowers to! Happens over the phone too. They were from AutoMaster.

I’ve been in that ladies position. Luckily I was never robbed. I easily could have been. My unit was robbed, but it wasn’t my shift.

I was required to keep the cash at acceptable levels at all times. That’s part of the requirements of the job. If you don’t want the job, that’s fine. If you do, you follow the employer’s guidelines.

Neither of us wants this woman harmed. Keeping the cash at the levels the employer requires is no more dangerous than violating those rules.

One hazard about keeping too much money in the till, is that when shady customers come in, they observe excess cash in the till.

Just having too much cash there can make you look like what seems to be an easy target. It makes you more likely to be robbed.

This guy could easily have been a customer over the days prior to this incident. He may not have robbed the place if she was not habitually leaving too much cash in the till.

I feel I must reply to this post . I worked retail years ago. the crook got away with only 400 dollars and they fired her for it. if you look at most fast food places they advertise that the store has less then one hundred and fifty dollars on hand because company policy is to keep the cash in till under that amount and to drop excess cash to a money drop box that the store employ has no access to. Most store employs cant keep to the policy because if they did they would not be able to make change if the store got busy. When I was in my 20s I worked at a gas station that had this as there stated policy and if I fallowed that policy the Store would of lost thousands of dollars in business each day because I would of constantly been unable to give change during the morning rush. instead of my till being under a hundred and fifty dollars my till was constantly over the amount and I still would have times where I could not give change because I made a drop then got hit with a rush.

It’s a misspelling. The correct word is POLICY.

Less than $400 in the register is not too much money considering the store must make change for mostly cash purchases.

The franchisee, Amin Dhanani, sounds like another greedy, woman bullying muslim.

Glad to see the Popeye’s corp. came down hard on his decision, but if she can, Ms. Holcomb needs to get another job as she is toast with Dhanani. I’d take the $2000 & the job back, but only until I could find another job.

Life is too short to work for an a$$4073.

Broke police multiple times? Are the police made of plastic?

Either that, or that's one tough lady.

When your pregnant employees get a weapon shoved in their face by some deranged violent individual you don’t turn around and fire them because your pissed about losing some dollars. That’s total bull sh*t.

Any restaurant I ‘ve worked in they always told us “do what the nice man with the gun tells you and if you resist you will be fired”

I'm not sure what any of that anything to do with my comments.

These greedy SOB's need to be sued out business. If it were my daughter who was put through this violent life threatening event, I'd make sure she sued these bastards into the poor house. She needs to get the very best attorney possible.
