Sam Olens and the rapidly changing landscape of gay marriage
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | 4/22/15 | Jim Galloway

The most curious facet of the debate over gay marriage is its violation of our usual requirement that social change occur at a pace that can only be detected with time-lapse photography.

On Wednesday, Attorney General Sam Olens indicated that, should the U.S. Supreme Court rule the way many suspect it will this summer, Georgia’s formal, legal antipathy to same-sex unions will vanish as quickly as the flick of a light switch.

“There’s a distinction between me defending the law and the order from the Supreme Court. When the Supreme Court rules on an issue, we’re going to follow the order,” Olens told the Atlanta Press Club.

“We’re going to encourage all those agencies that have a policy role that they immediately follow the law. I cringe just as much when an attorney general seeks to defy the law as anyone else,” he said. “When the U.S. Supreme Court rules, it’s not time for criticism. It’s not time for banter. It’s time for the lawyer to play lawyer and to ensure that everyone follows that law.”

No reason to vote for these people anymore. None. Zero.

Whatvreally infuriates them is the degenerates are starting to realize that bo matter how hard they try real Americans will never consider their sodomy celebration as “marriage”.

Makes sense if ones principles are like ones dirty underwear - changed daily.

What infuriates them is that they are jealous of other people, they don’t entirely feel great about their own life, and they have pre-existing issues such as depression, which engaging in such a lifestyle does not fix.

The clowns can glorify “gay marriage” all they want. The thought of TWO MEN climbing in the fart sack together will always present a goofy image in the minds of normal people.

They will never be accepted as “normal” in society no matter how hard they try because people are not stupd (with the exception of leftists). They know what the do behind closed doors and their deviant tendencies. Its why intelligent people won’t leave their children around them. We have thousands of years experience telling us what happens if we do.

Laws are made by nine unelected judges? Dictatorship by judicial committee? Maybe, as Lincoln once said, it's time to emigrate "to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy."

I’ve noticed that my gay FB friends have stopped getting “married”. There was a whole flurry of them and then....nothing.
Some of the “married” ones have gone strangely quiet.

Courts have no legal authority to issue a demand that we treat the new ceremony as if it had any connection to a real marriage. We may be required to give these couples (or no doubt groups soon) the same legal benefits and penalties as those who actually are married, but that pretense and our best game of make-believe will not change the true nature of gay relationships.

As for requiring decent people to participate in this farce, no government has ever had enough power to compel that sort of obedience. They can try, but they will fail, and I approve of any effort to evade such immoral demands. One has no moral obligation to deal openly with kidnappers, rapists, armed robbers, or leftist totalitarians.

Actually its time for the counties of Georgia and every other state to stop issuing marriage licenses. If the Feds want to control marriage, let them start issuing licenses.

Uh-huh and I’m sure this guy would say the exact same thing and feel the exact same way if the court ordered him to do something he, personally, disagreed with - like enforce slavery.

Nope, we must follow the law and abide by the decision of the system and the process... Unless we disagree with it and then we must resist, deny the legality of the process (even if it is)and recount the votes until we get the results we want and then the science is settled.

Dark days for the Republic.

It is such people who will "defend the law" when it calls for the rounding up of Jews and sending them to concentration camps.

This man is a good little Nazi. We need to get rid of the Nazis in our legal system.

In addition to that, intelligent people tell their children the truth on their own time, which is why the ACLU is complaining about the 1st Amendment, because it lets religions and parents teach “evil” and “bigoted” information when not in public. IDK, but the obssession with destroying “their enemies” seems pretty obvious when they take offense at about every attempt to let religions go their own way. It’s pretty disturbing. Someone with such a domineering and hateful attitude has issues.

If there is any conflict between laws of God and laws of man, God’s laws come first. FWIW, it didn’t matter to Daniel if he lived or died for going by God’s laws first.

The vast majority of "gays" don't want to be married. That is the complete opposite of what living the "gay" lifestyle means. The "gay" lifestyle is about unencumbered and excessive promiscuity.

The ones that want to be in a monogamous relationship are the extreme minority. What the rest of them want though, is to force acceptance of their sickness as normal. They desperately want to believe they are not sick, and in order to convince themselves, they need constant affirmation from everyone else in society.

All the gay people my age are rabid Democrats and want to make a political statement by getting married. Only a few didn’t do it, probably because their partners said “No”.

Where I come from that’s called parenting and discipline. That the ACLU would call it hate speaks volumes about the degenerate state of their leadership and their moral values.

If the ACLU were in Russia, they would sell out to the Communists at the drop of a coin.
