Russia isn’t going to stop. Most of the region is not Russian but that isn’t going to stop them. Outside of the two cities, very few people speak Russian or support Russia.
In another Eastern city of Kharkov a popular mayor was shot while jogging. Fortunately he has survived and now facing bogus charges by Kiev government. His voters are certainly unhappy. I believe the revolt would spread.
