STRAW POLL SHOWS SUPPORT FOR PAUL, WALKER, CRUZ AMONG TEXAS YOUNG REPUBLICANS[Cruz 2nd, Walker 3rd]
Breitbart ^ | 16 Mar 2015 | SARAH RUMPF

The Texas Young Republican Federation (TYRF) conducted a straw poll during February and March, and among potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates, the results show strongest support for Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), followed by Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Governor Scott Walker (R-Wisconsin).

The poll presented respondents with a list of eighteen potential presidential candidates and asked them to indicate each of the candidates they would like to see as the Republican nominee. Respondents were allowed to select multiple candidates they would support. The TYRF received 504 responses from Texas Republicans age 40 or under, of which 101 were active dues-paying TYRF members.

Among all respondents who were Texas Republicans age 40 or under, Paul came in first, with 50.6 percent saying they supported him. Cruz was second with 41.9 percent support, and Walker was third with 35.9 percent support. Other potential candidates who performed well include former Governor Rick Perry (R-Texas) with 26.4 percent, Ben Carson with 22.8 percent, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) with 18.7 percent, former Governor Jeb Bush (R-Florida) with 18.5 percent, and Governor Bobby Jindal (R-Louisiana) at 18.1 percent.

Just looking at the respondents who were active dues-paying members of TYRF, Paul had an even stronger performance, with 68.3 percent of respondents saying they would support him for president. Walker came in second with 58.4 percent support, followed by Cruz with 33.7 percent support, and then Rubio and Bush, both with 25.7 percent. Perry received 24.8 percent and Jindal 23.8 percent.

Of special note, Cruz did real good with a crowd that is normally completely in Paul’s camp.

Ted and Ron have been friends for decades... they share views on a number of things, particularly the Fed.

Taking back the WH will require some help from the Paul camp, so let’s work together, regardless of irritations... VPs don’t do a whole lot, anyway.

As Fox News tells us that Rubio is first and Bush is second in their poll. Fox is for RINOs.

Paul probably bussed some folks in so it was probably Cruz’ win.

I’m not going to support Rand Paul for anything. I don’t like him.

IMO, Paul will never get more than 10-15%. This is just young people wanting legal dope and gay marriage. Foreign policy will limit him by thinking people. Why do we care what skulls full of mush want? They are students BECAUSE they know nothing.

I used to get irritated that freepers said this stuff about fox, then i paid more attention to greta, Kelly, oreilly, Bauer, etc, and FReepers were right. only Hannity mentions Cruz’ name, and the Five idiot Perino is an unabashed neocon, and they love bush. And gay marriage.
stopped watching about a week and a half ago. their average viewer age is the 90s, lol, so they may want to embrace Cruz more

Like I always ponder this question. Is Paul working along with Ted to grab votes away from the Rinos and Democraps. In other words, let’s play their game.

I hope Jeb and Marco continue to be pushed further down the list!

Let the Establishment republicans have to stomach voting for a conservative for a change. Though we all know they’ll likely prefer the democrat. They always do.

Welcome, I am glad. Keep digging deep. All TV media is controlled. Also remember Satan speaks the truth sometimes to get his way. The enemy is big government, big business, and big banks. Congress is either blackmailed or bought.

These candidates need to be kept standing if we want to beat up..., I mean, beat out Hillary Clinton.

They all look so darn good, while she looks like a mafia don floating on her own corruption.

Politically, the progressive wing seems to be fighting among themselves, having been played and balkanized on all issues, by Obama. They can’t figure out what he did to them. LOL!

Now, if we can hold, until we see the white’s of their eyes, maybe we might take the White House.

We need the Hispanic vote, so we aren’t going to be hearing any immigration purist talk from ANY of our candidates. So, if that is the hope of some, then they will need to plan on staying home on election day.

Cruz and maybe Walker can get those Hispanic votes. That is, unless their base makes a fool of them.

Thanks. Even at my middle age i am a bit naïve in ways. I was really shocked when that major investment bank was found laundering money for Columbian drug cartels. I thought that only happened in the movies
