The number of confirmed and presumed HIV cases stemming from abuse of intravenous prescription drugs has increased to 142 in a rural part of southeastern Indiana and more cases are being identified every day, a state health official said on Friday.

The HIV outbreak, the biggest in state history, is centered on Scott County near the Kentucky border and now includes at least five cases in neighboring Jackson County, officials said.

"We likely haven't reached the peak of this outbreak, but we hope to soon through the continued comprehensive response made possible by the joint efforts of so many people and organizations," state Health Commissioner Jerome Adams said in a statement.

The 142 confirmed and preliminary positive cases is up from 106 cases two weeks ago. Typically, Scott County has fewer than five new HIV cases in a year.

This is gonna cost the taxpayers a fortune. I’m sure all of it gets billed to medicaid.

And right on cue, Hoosier liberals are blaming Pence for this by not making free needles more available. He already approved and extended the exchange in the county with the bulk of the infections.

Did I miss something? All the fags suddenly moved to Indiana? Well, Real Estate IS cheap there, and EVERY design/home magazine I read these days features a glamorous and well appointed, ‘home’ owned by, ‘Greg and Steffan.’

Isn’t there a liberal needle-exchange program there?

Heroin. Which is walking freely across our southern border.

Mostly in one county in southern Indiana.

Not so much the gayness as the midwest heroin epidemic.

Very bad stuff.

A lot of this is the result of legal action on pain pill doctors. Their clients move to heroin.

Isn’t this the state that tried to pass that “bigoted, discriminatory” law against homosexuals?

Oh, I’m sorry! I guess I DID miss something!

Real Estate IS cheap there, and EVERY newspaper I read these days features a glamorous and well appointed ‘Drug House’ owned by, ‘Greg and Steffan.’

See - THIS is the crux of being a Conservative these days! The LefTards have SO effed things up that all that’s left is to blame those of us on the friggin’ Clean Up Crew as we try to SAVE America!

This has very little to do with sex, it’s heroin needles.

They have shut down a lot of the pain pill doctors and their desperate patients switch to injected heroin which apparently is flooding in from Mexico at pretty cheap prices.

Yes. I understand. Lost a nephew to heroin up here in Wisconsin. Also lost a husband and son to opiates. Husband never sobered up. Son did! :)

Read the article, people, it’s about injectable drugs.

Drug addicts, get some rubbing alcohol. Pour some into a little cup. Clean your needle with water somewhat, suck water up into it, spray it out. Then suck up some alcohol with your needle and spray that out. Then do it a bit more with water. After that, shoot up with your drug.

We used to make biological products in a clean lab and had to change our blood dotting machine heads between making products. We used a rubber hose and running water with one shot through with alcohol. These products were pristine. There is no excuse for using a dirty needle if you can get alcohol, a sink with water, and a cup - even a paper cup.

My Doctors office has a sign by the receptionist that the local CVS may or may not fill a prescription for pain killers.

I had no problem getting oxycodone at a different CVS, but it was just a one-time thing.

Isn't that a violation of some sort of rule here?

I often wondered how they can find enough pills to feed their habit until I overheard a couple of guys talking at the pub about selling the 120 Vicodins they each get a month, courtesy of the taxpayer. $5-10 a pop.

Supplements their Supplemental Income quite nicely
