“A corrupt, unresponsive and plutocratic disaster”: How Mitch McConnell and the GOP remade DC
Salon ^ | 4/26/2015 | Elias Isquith

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is by most accounts an awkward, charmless politician who is motivated by little more than a ruthless desire to accrue power and win his next election. He has no set ideological principles (he was once a labor-friendly, pro-choice moderate, for example) and despite having been in Congress for some three decades, no legislation of real significance bears his name. To all appearances, he is exactly the kind of nakedly ambitious cipher that our society rewards but that we the people claim to hate. I would, generally speaking, rather write about someone else.

Eloquent.

This the second of two leftist media promotions of McConnell.

It’s being done for a reason. The reason is because McConnell is following orders from his masters to their satisfaction.

1. Full DHS Funding including funding for the President’s Executive Amnesty (passed in late March 2015).

2. Confirmation of Lynch who has testified that she will forego the rule of law and support the President’s Executive Amnesty (confirmed in late April 2015).

McConnell has thus delivered the US Congress to those that are ordering illegal amnesty for tens of millions and who intend to use this amnesty to fundamentally transform America.

The leftist media publications that to date are building up support for McConnell are ‘The Hill’ and ‘Salon’. There will be more.

‘Politico’ will weigh in soon if they haven’t already. And note that Politico was revealed last month to be supported via subscriptions from the federal government. So they are in business to write what the President’s people want them to write and do so at the expense of the American people.

Control of these leftist media outlets will likely change substantially as they heavily dependent on federal government for their existence ‘if’ Americans can win the battle to put Ted Cruz in the White House. But that’s a big ‘if’ in the arena of illegal amnesty by the millions. That is why the Preliminary Injunction against Executive Amnesty is the critical battleground of today.

Expect the same puppet masters that control McConnell to exert pressure on the US Supreme Court to lift the Preliminary Injunction against their amnesty.

I an unsure how pressure will be exerted against the US Supreme Court but it’s likely a combination that certain Supreme Court Justices have been compromised and influential clerks have sold out.

10-15 years ago this post would have resulted in ridicule and a lifetime ban.

No, we have a problem with the GOP too. We need to make a list - top corrupt democrats to defeat - top GOP RINO’s to defeat...

You mean like, each physical office is encouraged to subscribe to Politico as part of their trade publication/’magazine’ monthly budget? This didn’t get much coverage on FR. No wonder the incessant attacks on Cruz from them.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

But the point is that McConnell is becoming their man. He has sold out, literally sold out for money. He is reported to now be worth 28 million and there is no way he amassed that kind of wealth on a US Senator’s pay. He needs to be investigated.

Thank you. If only the midterms polls weren’t so deceptively slanted - 5pts off on average - that KY and other folks were afraid to throw the POS out of office, lest we not re-take the Senate, we’d be in such a different place right now.

Just reading the excerpt makes me think that Salon stole the piece from a Right Wing Site and placed McConnells name where Reid was.

Actually, I fail to see much of a difference between the two but at least Reid supports his own base(D) and believes the other side(R) should be annihilated —
then again, I believe McC has the same attitude to R’s that are not members of GOPe.

Sounds like Mitch might have been the inspiration for Netflix’s brilliant political series, House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey. The House, of course, is the House of Reps, and Spacey plays Frank Underwood (note the initials) the majority whip. In the series, he is a Dem. No matter, both sides are equally and utterly corrupt.

You can get the first two seasons at your library free. Or buy it from AMZ http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_9?url=search-alias%3Dmovies-tv&field-keywords=house+of+cards&sprefix=House+of+%2Caps%2C221

I saw Spacey on Charlie Rose. He said yes, THIS sitting administration is every bit as bad as the one depicted in the series. And yes, we have had (wink wink) bisexual presidents. Oh my.

McConnell looks more like an old woman than any other Senator, including the old women. The most testosterone-free face in Washington.

You’re right, it’s all about the amnesty.
It will be the final nail in the coffin of the Republic if they can get it.
They’ve been trying hard since 2006 but the people have prevailed.
The Uniparty, R and D divisions, agree that the fraudulently documented foreigners should be welcomed and accomodated.
They need their votes to finish off the Fundamental Transformation.

"I was thinking along the lines of the French Revolution."

I see no signs of that. All I see is "bread and circuses" or "A Clockwork Orange".

Not yet but serious irritation is in the air. People are starting to articulate the present dim treason and soon they will see far more of the treason that has occurred for decades. The line that I used was intended to cause reflection upon old sharpie, the device that caused the aristocracy to loose their heads during the French Revolution. Nothing more.

The only thing I would quibble with him here is that he left out Reid and Pelosi... and Boner and Obama and the Supremes and company.

Rush and Levin are right. It’s become the Establishment vs the People.

How you reverse it, I haven’t a clue short of...pitchforks.

I used to see term limits as a two-edged sword in that what you end up with is a string of rookie politicians with no knowledge of or experience in navigating the government or the bureaucracy. Seeing as how the situation has degenerated into corruption navigating corruption, I say throw all of them out every 4 years.

Well, I won't defend the turtle, but has this asshat ever heard of Harry Reid? Or is all that OK when his side is in charge?
