During his interview with Diane Sawyer that aired on Friday night, Bruce Jenner revealed that he’s questioned his gender identity his whole life, that he’s considered suicide, and that he took hormones for the first time in the 1980s — about 30 years ago and before he decided to marry his most recent wife, Kris Jenner.
But nothing shocked the public quite like his admission that he — gasp! — thinks the Constitution is important!
The subject of politics came up after Sawyer asked him how he felt about Obama being the first president to use the word “transgender” in a speech:
”I will certainly give him credit for that,” Jenner responded. “But not to get political, I’ve just never been a big fan. I’m kind of more on the conservative side.”
Sawyer then outright asked Jenner whether he’s a Republican, to which he replied:
“Yeah. Is that a bad thing? I believe in the Constitution.”

During the interview, Jenner also said that he didn’t believe that either party had a monopoly on “understanding.”
The response to his sharing something as simple as his political beliefs definitely shows that he was right.
You cannot be fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Social Liberalism always leads to big government.
What makes you think Bruce isn't a McCain or a Graham style Republican?
All three of them consider themselves "conservative" whatever others think.
I remember Jenner in the ‘70s and ‘80s being very conservative, definitely a Reagan-supporting type. He was even on the Wheaties box, fergoodnesssake.
Leaving aside all the social wackiness, he’s probably fiscally conservative, supports a strong defense — that sort of conservative.
Now he's on the Froot Loops box.

True. Very true. As I point this out to the many liberaltarians here at FR that they are tools and fools that support BIGGER government, they have nothing to say.
A transgender that doesn’t share their agenda is just a freak to them. It’s the same thing with gays, women and minorities-they’re just tools.
He didn’t say he was conservative. He said he was a republican. Two completely different things.
Because the word “conservatism” implies that those who call themselves “conservatives” want to conserve something, namely, the traditional principles of our nation. One of which is that is you’re born with male parts, male DNA, no matter how many things you get cut off or add, God made you a man. You can’t “conserve” principles and definitions if you “progress” on them.
Can’t decide which is more disgusting—The comments directed at Jenner by the “tolerant” liberals, or the comments directed at Jenner by the FReepers on this thread.

Conservatives think he is crazy because he thinks he’s a woman.
Liberals think he’s crazy because he thinks he’s conservative.
A liberal told me, of course he’s republican, he’s rich, so it’s in his financial interest to do so.
