Scott Walker: The Left Never Stops
Howie Carr Show ^ | April 27, 2008 | Howie Carr interviews Gov. Scott Walker

Posted on 04/28/2015 1:39:27 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

17:41 radio interview

Carr: What happened with the Wall Street Journal?

Walker: ......Border, Amnesty, Legal immigration, Economy, American workers and wages....

Carr: The WSJ basically ignored everything you said......

Walker: ....A distraction from what I really said....

Carr: H-1B Visas, we talk a lot about that on our show....... WSJ: Texas gets people to move there [not connected with H-1B Visas].

Walker: Explains why people move to Texas - lower taxes, regulations....... Republican Gov. reform leadership.

Carr: Thank you for speaking out for the American workers. The fact that they're so hysterical, shows you how empty their arguments are..

Carr: Your hometown paper attacked you for talking with Jeff Sessions [they didn't even know he was a Senator].

Walker: Reporting without knowing all the facts.. Voters want to hear from candidates about what they will do - which means get government out of the way....

Carr: Clinton scandal.....was bribery going on?

Walker: Needs review, investigation.....at a minimum, giving them the benefit of the doubt, how does someone not see this as..........

Carr: talks about uranium

Walker: certainly a criminal and ethics review - politics and business try to avoid conflict of interest - a different set of rules for the Clintons........

Carr: Different set of rules for Clintons...

Walker: Story after story, we saw this in the 90s, ........why would we want to go down this path again?......

Carr: David French's "Wisconsin's Shame" article at National Review - violation of civil rights....

Walker: About the only good thing out of this is that 2 years ago a judge said shut this down..... now before WI State Supreme Ct........and other federal courts coming down on this...

Carr: Wasn't there anything you could do.

Walker: By law you can't do anything about it, you can't talk about it, they came after me..........

Carr: It's amazing what you've been up against - this star chamber going after you and your supporters.......

Walker: There has been some talk about.........................the jury is still out on that (criminal charges against instigators of this John Doe prosecution). - talks about the protests and their actions against his family, the capital....

....the Left never stops. They will not stop, they will not back down.....

NYT - Feb 2014:Wisconsin’s Legacy for Unions

"....There are 414,600 public-sector employees in Wisconsin, and it’s safe to say that few would call Mr. Walker their favorite person. The governor recalls a visit to one elementary school where a teacher asked, “Why do you hate teachers so much?”

He said his response was: “I’m not attacking teachers. The ones who make you feel under attack are your union. It’s in their best interest to get people pumped up.”......

GOP candidates start a race to the bottom on immigration

"Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) raised a few eyebrows last week when he sat down with Glenn Beck and embraced a new, far-right position on legal immigration. The Republican governor, a former moderate on immigration, took such an extreme position that even some GOP lawmakers in the U.S. Senate thought he’d gone too far.

Maybe it was some kind of trial balloon? Perhaps Walker got ahead of himself and said something to Beck he didn’t fully mean?

Apparently not. The unannounced Republican presidential hopeful sat down on Friday with the Quad City Times in Iowa, where he again expressed concerns about legal immigration to the U.S.

In an interview Friday with the Quad-City Times, Walker said it just makes sense to factor in economic conditions when deciding legal immigration levels.

“A couple years ago, when the unemployment rate was at incredibly high levels and labor participation was low, why would we want to flood the market with more workers?” he asked. “So that would be a time when you would have arguably less.” … Walker did not answer directly whether he thinks immigrants are costing Americans jobs. Nor did he say, when asked, whether legal immigrants are pushing down wages in the U.S.

Walker adopted a similar line talking to a group of voters in Iowa the same day, and on Saturday, the governor used his concerns about legal immigration as an applause line

After saying he expects undocumented immigrants to return to their country of origin – Walker didn’t say how that would happen, exactly – the Wisconsin Republican told a large evangelical audience, “When it comes to legal immigration, the economy should drive things. And the number one priority in that process going forward should be American workers and American wages. When times are rough, the last thing we want to do is flood the market, put more workers in at a time when workers are unemployed, wages are low. We need to make sure we put American workers first.”

In other words, it wasn’t a trial balloon – Walker is evidently serious about this...........

Breitbart:

Who’s in Charge? Gov. Walker Talks About Wisconsin Witch Hunt; Witch Hunters Not Pleased "...Now that the final fate of this whole investigation is being decided by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, it sounds an awful lot like Chisholm and Schmitz are trying to goad Walker into unsealing information the court might rule was gathered improperly,or at least score a few last points against Walker by making him look furtive by refusing to play their game......."

April 28, 2015 - Christopher Chantrill, American Thinker: Dems Reach Out to White Working Class

"According to liberal foot-soldier Doyle McManus in the LA Times, the Democrats are going to do a special reach-out to white working-class men in 2016. It's easy to see why:

>>>Democrats were once the party of the white working man -- but that was a long time ago.

In the 2012 presidential election, Barack Obama won only one-third of the votes of white working-class men, a modern-day low. Mitt Romney, who didn't seem much like a blue-collar guy, swept the votes of those working stiffs by a huge margin.

In the 2014 congressional election, Democratic candidates did even worse[.]<<<

So McManus reports that Dems are gonna romance the white working class with a bit of Elizabeth Warren populism and CEO-bashing, and “a more serious commitment to both campaign reform and a leaner, more efficient federal government.”

But former Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) thinks the Dems are missing the point. Says he:

>>>I think that they have kind of unwittingly used this group, white working males, as a whipping post for a lot of their policies. And then when they react, they say they're being racist.<<<

Webb reminds me that this all started with Archie Bunker, hero of Norman Lear's 1970s sitcom All in the Family. When I was dining with a bunch of liberals a few nights ago, I learned that “racist” still meant white working-class Archie Bunker.

It's curious, isn't it, that racist for liberals doesn't necessarily mean Bull Connor and his fire-hoses or Lester Maddox and his axe. No, let's all rag on Archie Bunker, the poor working-class schmuck working on a loading dock in Queens........................"
