Who’s in Charge? Gov. Walker Talks About Wisconsin Witch Hunt; Witch Hunters Not Pleased
Breitbart ^ | April 27, 2015 | John Hayward

Posted on 04/28/2015 2:13:11 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

While visiting Iowa this weekend, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker commented on the wildly out-of-control “John Doe” prosecution waged by partisan Democrats in his state. One of the many objectionable features of this crusade was that the targets were legally gagged from talking about it. Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm responded to Walker’s comments by threatening him. Whatever Chisholm’s virtues as a D.A. might be, a keen sense of irony is evidently not among them.

The Wisconsin Witch Hunt has been an abiding interest of mine for years–rarely have so many been terrorized by so few for so little gain, until judges pulled the brakes on this crazy train–but Walker himself rarely discusses it in public. His remarks over the weekend were prompted by detailed accounts of Wisconsin residents who dared to support conservative political initiatives, and found themselves on the business ends of police raids they likened to home-invasion robberies. For details, see this piece by David French at National Review.

There’s no way to do it justice by excerpting it, but imagine a half-dressed woman tumbling out of bed in the middle of the night and pleading with an army of armed agents not to shoot her dogs, and you’ll have the general tenor of these eyewitness accounts. No matter how outrageous the conduct of the raiding parties, the targets were told they couldn’t tell a soul what happened to them, due to the gag-order provisions of the enabling Wisconsin law............

[SNIP]

...Now that the final fate of this whole investigation is being decided by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, it sounds an awful lot like Chisholm and Schmitz are trying to goad Walker into unsealing information the court might rule was gathered improperly,or at least score a few last points against Walker by making him look furtive by refusing to play their game......."

I know what I would do

No, let's all rag on Archie Bunker, the poor working-class schmuck working on a loading dock in Queens........................"

And who happens to be fictional.

There ARE rules, it’s just that the Left doesn’t follow them.

That’s why this is fighting it’s way through multiple courts.

And who happens to be fictional.

A fictional caricature created by a far left loon.

"the Left doesn’t follow them"

And are punished for that how?

Out of control prosecutors ruin people financially and socially and then retire on cushy pensions. Example: Ronnie Earl of Texas.

Sometimes the shortest distance between two points really is a straight line.

I tell you what. Since you don't like what's happening in Wisconsin and believe that Gov. Scott Walker has been derelict in his duties, why don't you march yourself up to Chisholm's office and give him an earful and then march over to the court house and file a Friend of the Court brief and get this fixed.

"Amicus Curiae"

"Literally, friend of the court. A person with strong interest in or views on the subject matter of an action, but not a party to the action, may petition the court for permission to file a brief, ostensibly on behalf of a party but actually to suggest a rationale consistent with its own views. Such amicus curiae briefs are commonly filed in appeals concerning matters of a broad public interest; e.g., civil rights cases. They may be filed by private persons or the government. In appeals to the U.S. courts of appeals, an amicus brief may be filed only if accompanied by written consent of all parties, or by leave of court granted on motion or at the request of the court, except that consent or leave shall not be required when the brief is presented by the United States or an officer or agency thereof.

An amicus curiae educates the court on points of law that are in doubt, gathers or organizes information, or raises awareness about some aspect of the case that the court might otherwise miss. The person is usually, but not necessarily, an attorney, and is usually not paid for her or his expertise. An amicus curiae must not be a party to the case, nor an attorney in the case, but must have some knowledge or perspective that makes her or his views valuable to the court."

Remember - ALL democrats are liars, trolls, thieves, and criminals... They don’t all ‘act’ on it - but that’s who they are...

And yes, the little monsters and roll us every now and then - even burn down our cities... but in the long run we’ll win. And Walker will win. We don’t have to win every battle in order to win the war...

I like Walker just fine, thank you. I detest Chisholm utterly and want him (legally) taken out. People like him are a curse on society.

It is interesting to watch the evolution of the character of Archie Bunker over the years that All in the Family was on the air. In the early years of the series, Archie was clearly caricature and clearly was meant to be an object of ridicule, with the “enlightened” Meathead character showing Archie the correct way forward. Obviously, the intent of the creators of the show was to portray Archie as an object of scorn in need of enlightenment, and Meathead as the character with whom the audience was to sympathize as he endeavored to enlighten Archie and reeducate him in progressive ways.

As the show continued through the years, Archie’s character was portrayed in more sympathetic fashion. Perhaps the public at large saw Archie quite a bit differently from how the show’s creators intended. It certainly seems that the majority came to regard Meathead as an ungrateful freeloader who sponged off of the honest, hardworking Archie. Even if people weren’t entirely comfortable with Archie’s racism, it certainly seems that Archie came to be seen as a sympathetic figure by the public, and he was certainly treated much differently in the later years of the show’s run.

Good observation.

I might also suggest that Lear didn't get rich by being insensitive to the opinions of his audience.
