Make that Black RATs. With the exception of Martin O’Malley, Baltimore has had “black leadership” for twenty years, and has’t had a Republican mayor since 1947. And now with this latest conflagration, capital investment (along with jobs) will be leaving Baltimore forever.
And the Republican mayor wasn’t exactly a conservative, either.
Not necessarily black Democrats. Look at Chicago. Look at New York from Lindsay through Dinkins. Were blacks running LA in the Watts riots?
But if capital investment leaves Baltimore, then Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, etc. will bitch about the lack of investment in our cities. They will complain that cities are being left behind, yadda, yadda, yadda.
No matter what, the liberal view is that racism and discrminiation are the reasons for problems in our cities. Not bad personal behavior, not the toxic baby mama culture, not the toxic gang culture, not the toxic ghetto culture which poisons life in so many cities. These issues are never discussed.
