I wouldn’t worry too much about the reactor itself because that’s encased in concrete. Residual radiation in the vegetation and old wood buildings would be the bigger concern.
It’s still emitting radiation.
I used to work for the company, Bechtel, that is currently constructing an immense concrete sarcophagus that will encase the reactor.
It is being built on tracks, away from the site, and will be rolled over the reactor at the last minute.
