Live thread: Senate Continues Iran Debate (Cardin objects to Rubio calling up amendments)
CSPAN2 | LIVE

Posted on 04/29/2015 1:13:26 PM PDT by Dave346

Senator Rubio took the floor at 3:15pm and tried to bring 2 of his amendments up - one for Iran to recognize Israel's right to exist, another that the deal should be what the White House said it was in fact sheets earlier this month.

Senator Cardin objected saying he is trying to work on an amendment on Iran's terrorism and other amendments.

Rubio responded saying he agreed at insistence of other Senators to hold off his amendments in Committee upon assurances they would be heard on the floor. Said it was fine if his amendments aren't heard today but needs a vote on both before final passage of bill.

Rubio left the floor after speaking for almost 30 minutes. Was a very heated exchange for anyone watching.

The Rube fell for another lie by his “leadership” and colleagues. What a sucker!

If there were any backbones up there, there would be no debate. There would be NO deal with iran other than verified destruction of ALL centrifuges. Or else. EOFS!

I agree. There isn’t even an agreement yet. All there is is a framework the contents and interpretation of which are not agreed upon by the US and Iran. There is nothing to debate .. yet .. unless they wish to insist that any future agreement includes various items ... such as your point that they must verifiably destroy all centrifuges.

At 5:25pm they started vote on Barrasso’s terrorism amendment.

This is only the 2nd amendment to be voted on although the Senate debate started Thursday.

Pretty sure that as the majority party the Republicans can force votes on as many amendments as they would like although there may be a desire among the “bipartisan” supporters of the Corker bill to severely limit the number of amendment votes to spare themselves the “embarrassment” of turning them all down.

Amendment requiring Zero to certify Iran not engaging in terrorism as part of final deal failed 45-54.

So now we have it on the record that all the Rats support Iranian terrorism!

Linda Grahamnesty told us they were going to ram this through unchanged. Democrats in R jerseys are worse than real Democrats. You know what you’re getting with real Democrats.

Who else is on the weasel list besides Corker and Grahamnesty?
