Anyone else think they ought to be reopening lunatic asylums and using them to lock these maniacs up like they used to?
YES!!!!!
I think we should open lunatic asylums with the sole discretion as to the definition of “lunacy” falling on the general public, in some way. They’d open them, people would do crazy things, and the media would help to explain it away outside of established definitions of lunacy.
Used to be that anyone display aberrant behavior outside of established social norms was thrown into the clink. Nowadays, most of us on FR could be defined as lunatics by DSM standards, which makes this a tough sell for me.
