>> at that point his well-being became THEIR RESPONSIBILITY.
I have no problem with cops applying equal or greater force to manage situations, but things get problematic when cops dispense revenge.
That was my thought, too, especially with that earlier lawsuit for whatever that was settled.
What is most disturbing is that pols and other leaders, from the President on down, have supported Gray and assumed police brutality before even they know the facts. They should be following the rule "don't have an opinion about facts...learn the facts".
I can't imagine how some cities descending into chaos will be avoided this summer, given the mindset of many of those in a position to shape attitudes and responses.
Sheriff mike lewis from wicomico county. Talks a good game, and strives for limelight
I have seen arrestees in the jail jump off the benches in the holding coz into the walls in an attempt to hurt themselves...just so they can claim abuse and sue later...happens more often than people know
To be honest I do not buy it and I am sure the people of Baltimore don't.
bttt
Well, either it is or it isn't. It is certainly verifiable as opposed to the narrative of his breaking his own neck.

Yup. “Print the legend.”
Well, what else is a hoax? Were there any "white" police officers, or Republicans involved? I haven't seen this reported.
If not...what the hell are they rioting against?
How about you wait for the report. This does not seem as clear cut as the Michael Brown assassination.
Pray America is waking
That much is true...
Gee boss... we don't know what happened.... we just put him in the van and he was okay then... and somehow he broke his own neck and crushed his windpipe.
What was caught on camera is a stop the van made that was mentioned by the cops.
that was NOT menitoned.....
Yep, kinda’ just like that. I take it that the suspicion falls now on the van driver.
Did you see where the medical examiner rejected the cops report?
Personally, I thought from the beginning that Gray appeared to be in excruciating pain from the arrest scuffle forward. Not saying the cops intentionally injured him taking him down, but still that looked like agony, not a raging temper fit. I don’t care if he was upright going into the van, he said he needed help and a doctor, so something wasn’t alright. The cops said he called for medical treatment or something, before they carted him away, I thought.
All this over a pocket knife found on him. It sounds like they arrested him without cause, but simply on sight of him.
I dunno, of course.
I think he looked injured when they were putting him in the van too....
