A group that supports the protesters in Baltimore gathered in Union Square Wednesday and shut down the outbound Holland Tunnel, the West Side Highway and several other city streets as they marched.
More than 100 protesters were arrested as officers clashed with protesters around Manhattan, CBS2 reported. The protests followed rioting that began in Baltimore on Monday, in response to the police custody death of Freddie Gray.
Several hundred people gathered in Union Square around 6 p.m., and during the 7 p.m. hour, about 200 people broke off from Union Square and marched down 17th Street despite an order by officers to stay off the streets, 1010 WINS’ Gary Baumgarten reported.
On 17th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues, protesters marched for less than five minutes before coming face to face with a line of NYPD officers in riot gear – a barrier that sparked instant anger and countless clashes in the street.

No serious injuries were reported, but an the commander of the NYPD 13th Precinct suffered minor injuries when he was hit with a flying object near Union Square, police said....

ere were 211 homicides in Baltimore in 2014. Not one protest. Not one riot.

Look, nobody really wants someone to die at the hands of others - especially the police ...
... but this thug had been arrested 27 times, and - apparently - had received a financial settlement from a car wreck. Perhaps Fast Freddie was angling for a “police brutality” lawsuit settlement - and he over did it.

The reality is that blacks killing blacks is the number one cause of death for young black Americans. (Homicide is not even in the top 15 causes of death for whites aged 15-34.) 40% of ALL black males who died between the ages of 15-34 were murdered. In 2012 black males were 10 times more likely to die of murder then whites of the same age group. And they weren’t killed by policemen. They are being killed by members of their own community.

That’s the end result of Communism / Socialism every time it’s implemented. Not everyone can make it to the top, so all but the political elite and their bootlicking subordinates live in equal misery.
I’d rather die broke, homeless, and alone freezing under a bridge knowing that I had a chance to better myself through my own actions and risks (or lack thereof) instead of settling for a subsidized, meaningless life provided by a centralized, massive government under the guise of the “common good” (where “common good” loosely translates into wealth robbed by the “1%” political elite).

so if a black person died in ambulance because that ambulance was blocked by them shutting down streets and highways...does this mean blacklivesdon’tmatter?????????
At least in NYC, we will know that they are simply bashing, and burning the property of, other leftists. So have at it.

Funny how it’s only the Leftist communities/States/entities that suffer such indignities - comical too. There is a reason why certain areas don’t have the same problems.....
NEXT STEP: FLASH MOB RIOTS
In order to highlight their grievances and escalate their demands for an immediate resumption of government benefits, the MUY (minority urban youth) flash mobs will next move their activities to the borders of their ethnic enclaves. They will concentrate on major intersections and highway interchanges where non-MUY suburban commuters must make daily passage to and from what forms of employment still exist. People making a living will still be using those roads to get to where they earn their daily bread.
The results of these clashes will frequently resemble the intersection of Florence and Normandie during the Rodney King riots in 1992, where Reginald Denny was pulled out of his truck’s cab and beaten nearly to death with a cinder block. If you don’t remember it, watch it on Youtube. Then imagine that scene with the mob-making accelerant of texting and other social media technology added to stoke the fires. Instead of a few dozen thugs terrorizing the ambushed intersections, in minutes there will be hundreds.
Rioters will throw debris such as shopping carts and trash cans into the intersection, causing the more timid drivers to pause. The mobs will swarm the lines of trapped cars once they have stopped. Traffic will be forced into gridlock for blocks in all directions. Drivers and passengers of the wrong ethnic persuasions will be pulled from their vehicles to be beaten, robbed, and in some cases raped and/or killed. It will be hyper-violent and overtly racial mob behavior, on a massive and undeniable basis.
Some of those trapped in their cars will try to drive out of the area, inevitably knocking down MUY pedestrians and being trapped by even more outraged MUYs. The commuters will be dragged out of their cars and kicked or beaten to death. Other suburban commuters will try to shoot their way out of the lines of stopped cars, and they will meet the same grim fate once they run out of bullets and room to escape.
The mob will be armed with everything from knives, clubs and pistols to AK-47s. A bloodbath will result. These unlucky drivers and their passengers will suffer horribly, and some of their deaths will be captured on traffic web cameras. Later, these terrible scenes will be released or leaked by sympathetic government insiders and shown by the alternative media, which continue to expand as the traditional media become increasingly irrelevant.
Here in close-in Virginia we might be able to block the bridges from DC. But they will come across in cars and we grow our own anyway. The long distances will be a challenge to the rioters on foot. Not sure how they will get 70 miles or even 20 miles in vehicles. But it seems plausible that they could stealthily approach some remote area, swarm and loot, then leave. It’s going to be hard to stop the organized gangs especially if the government does nothing.
I think it will primarily be an urban problem when it breaks out. It will mainly affect commuters with no alternative routes.
