I should add - I don’t think it’s been confirmed that Gray did in fact have recent surgery. It’s still an open question - but obviously an important one.
He was certainly into drugs. He was also the recipient of legal compensation to do with lead-paint poisoning. Could either of those have left him with a pre-existing medical condition involving weak bones?
I heard he had also been involved in a Mesothelioma lawsuit from his years working in a Johns Manville plant. /s
