“WHY be a cop if you cant arrest drug dealers..?”

Maybe because there was no warrant for his arrest? He had already served the time on his other arrest charges. He was not an escapee. He was arrested on sight of him, reportedly, with no warrant or cause.

He was arrested on March 13th and 20th. We don’t know if those cases had been heard yet, or what dispositions there were...if any. We don’t know if he was under any court-ordered restrictions at the time. You don’t need an arrest warrant to take someone in for suspicion of a crime, or for questioning. You need probable cause.
