When Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was in his first year in the Senate, he took to the floor to oppose a bill on a program to manage federal helium that was about to expire and that all sides had agreed on.
The bill passed 97-2, with Cruz voting against it. What was striking was that the Federal Helium Reserve is based in Texas. He objected because all the proceeds from the sale of the lighter-than-air gas stored in Amarillo did not go to the U.S. Treasury.
Cruz, a candidate for president in 2016, has stuck to ideology ever since, even if its against home-state interests. The conflict has heated up over reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Texas is the No. 1 exporting state and businesses say they need the banks credits to succeed overseas..
Cruz calls the bank crony capitalism. A meeting to discuss the bank earlier this year between his chief of staff and Texas companies erupted into a shouting match...
Ive never heard any of my colleagues say, Ive got a problem and Im going to Sen. Cruz, said Hector De Leon, an Austin-based lawyer whos a Republican. My experience and others I know is if you want some constituent service done, you go to Cornyns office,

Good!
Why oh why is he not for legal workers and Americsn educated workers first? He would be so much more the populist.. come on Cruz. Give those who see American fsmilies being badly hurt by illegal and legal foreign competitors for jobs and educations some hope.
Se, Cruz is for legal immigration, against amnesty and illegal immigration. That’s his position.
If that’s not good enough for you, find a candidate that will lie to you.
This is good news for the conservative movement, but is it good for Ted Cruz to know he has little backing from the business community in his own state. I did not vote for Cornyn this cycle because of his backstabbing ways with Cruz, stopping Obamascare, and blaming the government shutdown on Cruz.
I will not support the RNC, the Chamber of Commerce, or its membership to the best of my ability.
“The general feeling among Texas companies, said a Washington lobbyist for a large Texas company, who spoke only on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, is that no one can get anything out of that office unless it means an ideological agenda.

Translation of “ideological agenda”—— the constitution, the law, and not surrendering the public interests to the vested interests.
Yes you are correct sir.
As one article earlier this week put it TRUST is the word and Cruz has mine.
If we can’t get this man elected we have lost our best last chance. Pray God will have mercy on America one last time before He destroys us.

LARGE COMPANIES!
Not small businesses and small to mid sized companies!
People are hungry for someone who will tell them the truth.
Sen. Ted Cruz
Ted Cruz- Tearing down Rick Perry’s crony capitalist legacy.
in an interview, [Kay Bailey] Hutchison, now a Dallas attorney, wouldnt comment on Cruz. But she said, My philosophy was we go the extra mile. I always tried to represent the interests of Texas and Texas institutions. Its a big part of the job.

Or, in common speak, show me the money!
The Conservative Populist Breakout- Republicans Acting In the Spirit of Barbara Jordan
“Socialist?” I thought she was an out and out communist.
There is a GOPe move afoot to get FReepers to buy into a “populism”
Thats true. Completely. But let me clarify a bit
There is a GOPe move afoot to get FReepers to buy into a “LIBERALISM.”
When those people are shamed out of our presence, we can then work to elect conservatives. Not until. For whatever reason they are allowed to stay and repeatedly divide us, spread crap and serve liberal interests...namely GOPe.
This should be obvious after the years of PDS and lesser evil propaganda, but for some reason, few here will speak up about it. Those very same people then wonder why DC and the GOPe are filled with people destroying everything they claim they stand for and believe in.
Texas has been inflicted for some time with republican crony politicians. Rick Perry, David Dewhurst, Joe Straus, Hutchinson, Cornyn - ALL play in the corporate welfare swamp. Cruz managed to get elected above all of that, despite a lot of money being thrown to Dewhurst to knock him out of contention.
