A) They’re not really conservative or (B) they’re desperate for their candidate to sweep the field or (C) both.

For myself, I’m ok with the populism, because my definition of populism is just what Sen. Cruz did here— he’s representing the people and not the vested interests.

But, I know what you’re talking about with the “socialist creep” on the board. I haven’t been on the board for quite a while, and I was surprised to see a lot of support for the “medicare fix” just pushed through Congress. Increased the debt, unpaid for, but many posted that they didn’t care because they benefited by Medicare.

As to the nativism, that’s just Walker. He can’t hold that position, mainly because, he doesn’t really believe it. He’s a good conservative, but here he’s just pandering.

Pandering pretty much shows he isn’t any more conservative than any other RINO. The fact he staffed up with RINOs also shows that.

He did the union busting thing but as great as that was, America doesn’t need a guy that goes 180 on major issues even when they go in our direction. Because he will pander his way right back to his original and long held beliefs.

I realize no one is perfect. But that flip of his is just ridiculous.

a job to go with it for every American [...] this crowd pleasing mollifier sweet pill of bread and circuses

Dunno about the circuses - but to put bread on my family's table I need to not have my job given to a Third World serf.

But Walker wants less immigration unless the economy gets better, then it’s OK.

‘Cruz managed to get elected above all of that, despite a lot of money being thrown to Dewhurst to knock him out of contention.’

I support Senator Cruz and will work for his election, whether he is nominated by the Republicans or goes into a new party.
Honest, non partisan, incorruptible government is the goal, like with Sarah Palin.
Now that the Liberals are clearly in bed with the US Chamber of Commerce fat cat's, Senator Cruz will have a lot to talk about and more of his supporters have a challenge to get off their dead asses and do something. TWB

When one businessman with 500 employees said he’d have to lay off one-third of his workforce...

< snip >

Without it, he said, a quarter of the 270 employees would be “at risk.”

< snip >

If the role of FedGov was supposed to be keeping jobs, then President Reagan would never have fired the striking air traffic controllers.

I don't want to see anyone lose a job, but, if the only way these folks can keep their jobs is at taxpayer expense, and they're in the private sector, that says something about how well their employer is addressing a market that really exists absent the subsidy or guaranty.

Re: “There is a GOPe move afoot to get FReepers to buy into a “populism” movement...”

Sorry - that's incorrect.

There is a Conservative move afoot to get FReepers to actually read and watch the things that Ted Cruz writes and says about legal and illegal immigration.

Cruz has stated on You Tube videos and in the New York Times that:

(1) He supports the Gang of Eight “Work Permit,” which allows illegal aliens to legally work in the USA, and allows them to immediately apply for a Green Card.

(2) He will not deport illegal aliens who have not broken other USA laws.

(3) He has claimed that our “immigration system is broken,” the same language used by Democrats, Jeb Bush, and Marco Rubio. But, the only broken part in that system is the total lack of enforcement of existing laws.

(4) He has called for a 5X increase in H1-B work visas, a 2X increase in Green Cards, an increase in low skill work visas for Texas farmers and ranchers, and an increase in the legal quota for Mexican and Chinese immigrants who have waited a long time for Green Cards.

Please read or watch the following links before you respond to my statements:

Don't Worry, I say we let the Democrats have this issue, then we will really hold them accountable on the Next One.

Or Maybe the Next One, Or the Next One, Or the Next One, Or the Next One, Or the Next One, Or the Next One, Or the Next One

Sen. Cruz says he’s the biggest advocate of legal immigration- that’s his position.

You guys will have to support the guy who is going to put a moratorium on legal immigration. Ooops, guess that’s no one.

Well then, trust the guy who says he’ll restrict legal immigration, except if the economy is good,- then he’ll increase it.

I’ll trust the guy who’s the subject of this article, who, according to the article, told big business to screw off because he wasn’t for sale.

Yeah, My post was mocking the GOP-E Defeatist Attitude, more often than not dictated by the Chamber of Commerce.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, however I was being sarcastic, That is what I get for FReeping on the Go :P

Re: “Cruz is for legal immigration, against amnesty and illegal immigration. That’s his position.”

Sure about that?

Cruz supports the Gang of Eight “Work Permit,” which allows 12 million illegals to legally hold jobs in the USA, and allows them to immediately apply for a Green Card.

Cruz has also publicly stated that he will not deport any illegal alien who has not violated other USA laws.

Yes, absolutely sure. I read your articles and viewed the you tubes, that’s precisely what he said.

Now, name the guy who’s for deporting 12 million.

Re: “More Ted Cruze Fear Mongering”

“Truth Mongering” is more accurate.

I deliver Cruz video links and Cruz quote links for every statement I make.

You deliver nothing but junior high school insults and mockery.

And you can't even spell the guy's name right in your post.

Cruze? - LOL
