If you are seriously asking, the answer too makes sense. They choose west Texas because the terrain and environment is similar to the Middle East. That area also has wide swaths of private land that was leased for the exercise. Finally, the locations are within reasonable distances from existing bases so logistics will be easier.

Does that sound reasonable? I think it does.

They have been holding these on military reservations the last fourteen times. north And South Carolina are nice places, but they are not like the Middle East.

If you wanted ME environment, you don’t go to Texas. you go to Arizona or Nevada. Because last I checked, Texas and Afghan were on opposite ends of the mountain spectrum.

Not true. My own city is on the list, a CITY of 70 thousand and no way can they sneak around undetected. San Antonio is on the list, lol, and Goliad. Goliad!! A tiny town with two Missions! This is more south central Texas and NOT Middle East terrain or environment.
