Poll: Nearly Half Of Marylanders Would Rather Move Somewhere Else

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Do you want out of the state of Maryland? A new poll shows nearly half of Marylanders say they are fed up and ready to pack up if only they could.

Meghan McCorkell explains what has so many thinking about leaving.

In a poll of all 50 states, Maryland ranks third for people who say they would rather move somewhere else.

We’ve got the beach, the mountains, the O’s and Natty Boh, but some say they’re ready to break up with Maryland.

According to a new Gallup poll, 47 percent of Marylanders say they would move out of the state if they could. Only 17 percent are likely to leave.

The top reasons people want out–work or business.

“I think there’s better opportunity elsewhere,” one man said.

Other reasons are family and friends, plus the weather, which is not surprising after last winter.

“I just wish summer would be here,” a man shoveling snow said.

And, of course, there are taxes.

“Everybody’s paying more fees, more taxes, and I think, at some point, people get tired of it,” said Rep. Andy Harris, (R) Maryland.

"According to the poll, the only two states people want out of more are Illinois and Connecticut.

The top three states where people want to stay put are Montana, Hawaii and Maine."

Illinois and Connecticut = Blue

Montana and Maine = Red

We need to keep MDers in State and encourage other out of states to move there so as to provide for a safe place for true Americans to live in Personal Liberty...

I don’t blame ‘em for wanting out. I’d want out myself if I was stuck in a large city. The recent riots were tame compared to what is gonna go down if some sort of ‘EBT’ or ‘SNAP’ glitch happens to the gibs-me-dat’s freebie handouts system. The thugs will 100% go COMPLETELY bonkers and all hell will come within a matter of days if the system stays down.

Dontcha have to have a permit and pay fees to move there? (you need one for everything else!).

I grew up there, and relatives have to have 9 permits to cut a tree planted by an ancestor 180 years ago on land that's been in the family since the 1600s. I doubt I'll be moving back...besides, I'd have to leave half of my guns behind.

Well, I dropped a couple of trees that were too close to the fam homestead. No gov't retribution yet.

I sure as heck will not be establishing my homestead/residency anywhere close to MD.

Imbeciles.

HALF the state wants to move? -After they keep voting in the slobs that create the problems and make it unlivable??

USE your BRAINS when VOTING, idiots. Then you won’t feel you have to move!

This is just unreal.

Now why would the good people of Maryland want to distance themselves from the “thugs”?/s OOPS! “thugs” is too un-PC for some tender sensibilities to handle. The other day, Todd Scnitt euphemistically called them “Maryland Mischief Makers”.

But Hawaii is the bluest or most liberal of them all. I guess we can blame the weather.

That is the proverbial problem with blue staters. They voted for hell, they got it, and now they want to move and take hell with them to another state.
