The Oakland hills are between you and the quake, along with the northern tip of the Las Trampas hills.
It would have had to be much bigger for you to have noticed it.

I’m a native Californian, and we generally refer to the state in three or four parts: NorCal, from anywhere north of Santa Rosa or Oroville, Central Cal which some differentiate from the Bay Area due to the differing political views, and SoCal, which we in Santa Clara County generally regard as beginning roughly around Santa Cruz and southward.
Then there is that whole State of Jefferson thing which is another topic altogether, but I am afraid I still must disagree with the Wiki. SanFran, Oakland, Palo Alto, Stockton, etc, are most definitely NOT in the North of the state. In or close to the middle, yes. Towards the top, no.

No no and no it’s not! The “victims” would be refugeed to other places, like the Katrina refugees were, and then cause a spike in crime and other dysfunctions to those communities! Now, if it could be guaranteed that the refugees would be put into the communities inhabited by white leftists, that would be another thing.
