Ben Carson, famed neurosurgeon, running for president

Ben Carson, retired neurosurgeon turned conservative star, has confirmed that he will seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

Carson, who has never run for public office, is expected to be the only high-profile African-American to enter the GOP’s presidential primary as he tries to parlay his success as an author and speaker into a competitive campaign against established politicians.

“I’m willing to be part of the equation and therefore, I’m announcing my candidacy for president of the United States of America,” he said in an interview aired Sunday night by Ohio’s WKRC television station.

He is set to make a more formal announcement during a speech from his native Detroit on Monday.

Please continue explaining your unique interp if incremental gun control. It’s fascinating that a man wanting it implemented in cities for certain guns is in full compliance when every American wouldn’t be subject to those restrictions.

Are you on the Brady Campaign or something with that view? Defending a gun grabber that had to walk back his statement? I mean today, not even HE agrees with your wisdom.

If you are going to be so obtuse and intransigent as to assert that Dr. Carson is intent on stripping firearms from law abiding citizens in urban areas, and say he believes the Second Amendment does not apply in cities, then at least allow the rest of us the pleasure of asserting that you would advocate for the placement of firearms into the hands of the criminally insane. It’s only fair. One non-sequitur for another.

Well did he or did he not say what he said?

Please post where I advocated anything remotely related to that.

I have been, and it is not remotely related. When you open your big mouth with wild assertions you back yourself into a corner that even ad hominem cannot satisfactorily remedy. Better to back up and express things more accurately. Would you like some help with that?

You are the guy saying a man who said a thing, did not say a thing, then walked back the thing he did not say because of pressure from gun and other groups. How exactly does that logical impossibility mean that ‘I’ am backed into a corner Saul?

He said what he said, but your inferences and conclusions are slightly overdrawn. I see where you’re coming from, but it does not merit the assertion that Dr. Carson believes the Second Amendment to be totally inapplicable in urban contexts. There are instances where “all or nothing” arguments make better sense. This is not one of them.

Another winner

ME - Please post where I advocated anything remotely related to that.

You - I have been, and it is not remotely related.

Do you not see the problem?

Slightly? I thought it was massively or something a while back. Are you arguing to hear the sound of your keys clicking or something?

If you see where I’m coming from then you also see that calling for and if president implementing targeted gun confiscation is not conservative and a direct infringement on the 2A. No one EVER said give guns to criminals but you.

Not at all. In advocating a strict interpretation of the Second Amendment you would be willing to see guns placed into the hands of the criminally insane. That’s your advocacy by virtue of overstating things. Not hard to see. You’re right, it is not a slight overstatement. I only used that word in hopes of lessening the rancor with which you choose to address those with whom you disagree. Oh well. Keep raising that flag for the criminally insane.

” Not at all. In advocating a strict interpretation of the Second Amendment you would be willing to see guns placed into the hands of the criminally insane”

NOBODY “PLACES” guns into the hands of the criminally insane, but a criminal who is insane.

You are truly a piece of work.

Gun rights are expressed absolutely in the Constitution, but they are not thereby left without further strictures in legal practice. Same goes for liberty. All is done within reasonable limits. Dr. Carson has been a better advocate for Second Amendment rights than many politicians currently in office.

This is most certainly true. And you apparently have no problem with that. I mean, it's their right, right?

You are defending a man/statement that would result in gun confiscation, then building a strawman about all or nothing interps and you expect something other than rancor.

A true 60%er if ever FR had one.

OK Yes or no. Do you believe Shall not be infringed means criminals/insane must be allowed have guns. Simple question. Yes or no.

Can you produce any example where American law has ever supported such a position going back to the Constitutional founding? Yes or no.

You just massively topped the previous stupidest thing ever said on FR. Liberty has limits. Do you understand how massively liberal that is?

No one EVER said give guns to criminals but you.

On the contrary, since you would argue that the right to bear arms shall in no way be infringed, you have no problem with firearms being placed into the hands of the criminally insane, or if they decide to take them up of their own accord. Nice corner you boxed yourself into by declaring Dr. Carson to be an advocate of abolishing the Second Amendment in cities.

Dr, Carson is not a politician, and never will be. He has zero chance of getting anywhere. Skilled politicians and lobbyists would eat him for breakfast. He is just taking up space here. His friends did him no favors.

Well . . . go ahead and try to do anything you please without the law. See how far you get. Then we’ll see who the “over the top” one is. LOL.

You think Reasonable limits on liberty are are OK. I suppose nothing is beyond your ability to misinterpret.

Maybe we could have a guy advocate the death penalty for offending a certain number of muslims. Thats reasonable if it saves lives right?

Thanks for your opinion. I tend to think the same. But I will not have his, or your expressions for that matter, twisted into something other than what you mean by virtue of a mendacious insistence on being right at all costs.

Thank you for showing yourself to be a troll. Not even bright enough to be a fun troll.

Have a nice evening. (Not really)
