Few things undermine the foundations of a just society more than people who have been granted the power to prosecute acting not on the basis of the facts and the law, but out of political motives.
To which Mika Brzezinski says . . . meh. On today's Morning Joe, there was a discussion of the possibility that Baltimore prosecutor overcharged the police officers in the Freddie Gray case. And a clip was played of Mosby repeating the politically-correct phrase of the moment: that the rioters were not "thugs." After which Brzezinski declared: "You can't get a chance if there isn't justice . . . I watched her speaking and I was thinking, gosh, it seems political. Not sure I care. I'm really glad her voice is at the table. I'm really glad that she's there."

Justice? An outdated concept. Trials are for political opponents.
Of course many prosecutorial decisions are political. How could it be otherwise?
Even if political factors are not directly involved, one of the best stepping stones to higher political office is to make a name for yourself as a successful prosecutor. Thus every prosecutor has an incentive to care about his success in the public eye more than justice. Which is not to say they all follow thru on that incentive.
I would suggest that the pretense that prosecutors are not political, like the similar pretense about the media, has done more harm than good.

Well Mika if you accept an Government Prosecutor being “political” about a case then you are a fool............ There DUTY is to enfocre the law and use it legally to protect their citizens. Not use the position for political purpose.
