Your question is obviously rhetorical...Reverend Al may have ratings that are microscopic, but his place at MSNBC is secure, thanks to his little arrangement with Comcast, which acquired NBC a few years ago.
Sharpton and his fellow “activists” could have challenged the Comcast deal, costing the cable operator millions in legal fees, while further depressing the value of its newest properties. Instead, Comcast donated at least $155,000 to Sharpton’s organization, while the good reverend went to bat for the cable company with federal regulators. And voila, Al gets a nightly platform to spew his ignorance and venom:
