‘I still suspect the Russians were in-part behind the 911 attacks.’

And the reason is? The only hypothetical reason which comes to mind is to help Bush reelection and create conditions to US military engagement in Middle East. These are the most immediate and not unexpected political consequences of 911, none contribute a bit to a Russian interest.
But you have to be a tinfoil conspiracy nut to believe in such a crap anyway.
If you are still believing it also makes a theory of Saudi connection more likely.
They are the group who benefited the most as a result.

The Kremlin’s Troll Army: Moscow is financing legions of pro-Russia Internet commenters:

A June article by Max Seddon of BuzzFeed reported the Kremlin was spending millions of dollars to pay English-speaking Russians to promote President Vladimir Putin and his policies in U.S. media like Fox News broadcasting and The Huffington Post and Politico news sites. Trolls are reportedly expected to manage multiple fake accounts and post on news articles 50 times a day, often with sentiments as simplistic as “Putin makes Obama look stupid and weak!”

Just when Russia is about to begin a comeback, following the so-called 'collapse' of the Soviet Union, the heart of the US economy is suckered punched and we're thrust into a war where even more dollars and resources will be spent. That would obviously benefit the Russians. Do they pay you in US dollars, Troll?
