If true, I guess it means the cop was ignoring the standard advice to aim always for “body mass.”
Either that, or he knew somehow that the perps were wearing body armor.
Whatever the explanation, it’s a very instructive case.
He probably had a strong suspicion that they were wearing body armor,
and if he was that good of a shot, why chance it?
I am guessing they didn’t have the armor concealed and the cop knew he had to take the head shot
While my agency does mention “center of mass” the actual policy says “shoot until the threat is neutralized” or “shoot to stop”. It does not implicity or explicitly mentionsl headshots.
