Why We Must Unite Behind Ted Cruz [Open letter to conservative talk show hosts]

Open letter to conservative talk show hosts

Ted Cruz

I’m disappointed with conservative talk radio. I really can’t understand why our media giants, such as Rush Limbaugh , Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin, are not actively pushing for Ted Cruz….

Conservative pundits have attributed the 2012 debacle, to the inability for conservatives to unite behind one strong conservative. YET WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN!?!

While we’re window shopping, the other team lost no time with scorn, and vilification; ignoring and misrepresenting anything Cruz.

Coalescing behind one guy, won’t happen by itself. Nor will the liberal leaning media help us in this regard. Conservative talk show hosts-the “editorial board writers for working people”, MUST LEAD THE WAY.

So, why Cruz? Answer: Those that go to Washington can’t be trusted, except Cruz.

It’s true, Marco Rubio might have a slight edge in speeches, and Scott Walker can point to more impressive successes. Still we MUST unite behind Ted Cruz….

Many feel that, on balance, Cruz’s skill-set outweighs his opponents, but that can be debated. What’s not debatable is that every single candidate, (except Cruz) that has already arrived in DC, has changed their tunes. The other opponents have simply not yet come to Washington.

The atmosphere in our nation’s capital, is antithetical to conservative values. It’s so toxic, even lifelong conservatives feel compelled to accommodate the special interests and big donors. All, at the expense of the voters that sent them there in the first place. Except Cruz.

Just last week, Jodi Ernst and Perdue, voted against conservative values. Why should anyone assume that a Scott Walker won’t drink the same kool-aid Rubio has been sipping the past couple of years.

If anyone thinks moving away from Cruz will slow media’s criticisms, think again. They’ll vilify anyone. They even turned harmless, squishy, Romney into the devil incarnate.

No, Ted Cruz is not 100% perfect. Nobody is. All criticisms are, however, anecdotal at best.

Ted must be mentioned every single day, and constantly contrasted to his counterparts in the Republican party.

If a drum-roll is keeping Hillary alive, imagine what constant positive focus will do to one of our best.

It isn’t the talk show hosts who are the issue. It’s the so-called conservative candidates.

It's also the supporters of said candidates. We savage others that don't deserve that kind of nit pciking thinking we will help "our" candidate. All the time we are helping the MSM damage every single conservative, plus make it harder for those who have dropped out to consolidate behind the nominee.

Cruz and Walker are both worthy of our support (I prefer Cruz), and if one falters, we need to go with the other.

We also need to take allies who will help a good ticket win and not turn them off or destroy them. Examples: I watch people here savaging Carson and Fiorina and cringe. They are NOT going to win, They are NOT really going to hurt our candidate, however they WILL help Cruz or Walker slay the hildabeast (or whoever the DNCe thinks they can fool us with). They are important cogs in a future machine.

Think the long game people....

Rubio backed off when his original plan, actually an outline, was torn apart by obola, McCain, Graham and that POS from NYC! After he came out against the next plan by those a$$wipes he was attacked by them and conservatives. The libs took the cue and jump on him as if it was HIS plan and used this to drive a wedge between him and conservatives. It was also at this time his family started receiving threats and his children were actually pulled from the DC area school.

He's been back on the amnesty drive since he announced.

“...respect for the process.”

Right.

That’s a concept the Liberals seem to have forgotten (if they ever knew it).

Well it should. If the theory is we should get behind this guy because he’s the one that can win then he should be able to prove that by drawing enough people to win.

Right on!

I've advocated the same thing. But I recognize the fact that they're not all going to agree on a single candidate, so I propose the following: Let each host rank their top two or three. I think the consensus will result in Ted, anyway.

Beck's favorites are Cruz and Paul. He's in.

Levin likes Cruz, but is waiting and seeing. Please decide soon, Mark, because we have to strangle the Bush campaign in the cradle. Later is too late.

Rush --I don't know what his problem is. He has never endorsed and we'd be unrealistic to expect him to. Don't waste your time with him.

Sean likes Ted. C'mon Sean, give us your top two or three!

Unite or die!

I have family members who think Cruz pops off without thinking. I don’t see him that way at all.

It makes you wonder where they got that impression.

I have other family members that voiced this opinion first, and I think they encouraged other to think that way.

Lets face it, Cruz and Walker won’t be the first choice of a lot of people who are confused on issues of Conservatism.

He’s a good man, Cruz is.

Just an effort to declare an election over 8 months before any votes have been cast? There’s a long time to go on this, way too early to declare “everybody but this guy sucks, ignore them”.

You’re welcome. But I actually do have somewhat of a connection to him, via my brother, conservative radio talk show caller “Jimmy From Brooklyn”.

Thank you for your kind response. I meant “without trying to silence some of them.” It looks like everyone got my meaning.

Too bad the mob mentality is blinding everyone from what should be obvious.

I don’t think Huckabee can hurt Cruz or vice versa. Let them compete. Contrary to the statements of people on this thread who think they can read my mind, I haven’t decided who I will vote for this time around. I like several candidates. Some I started out liking have already moved way down my list. I want to hear these people and watch how they handle themselves. I can tell you this, I will not partner with bullies in support of anyone.

But you’re acting like this is happening in a vacuum.....columns like this are PART of a candidate drawing support. This is not some decree sent down from some other planet and forced on us...this IS part of the process.

maybe you don’t know nearly as much about most of these candidates as other freepers.....it’s not like any of these folks are unknowns. I mean is Huckabee still on your list?

Actually you’re the one acting like this is happening in a vacuum... actually like you WANT it to happen in a vacuum. thus presenting no other candidates that might actually be better. Columns like this are stupid. I know they’re part of the process, but they’re a stupid part. It’s the part where somebody blames everybody else, instead of actually presenting an analysis of the candidates and why he likes this one best he’s declaring all other supporters wrong and part of the problem. It’s what turns these things into pissing contests instead of election contests.

This quote from Michael Savage convinced me I don't need to waste a second of my time considering his opinions on possible GOP nominees.
Michael Savage was brief, and well, savage: “A bunch of rotten villains, every last one of them. They’re all villainous. There’s no other word for it. The American political system is villainous. At this point, the only one I can back is Scott Walker, and I don’t know much about him. I will not back Rubio. He’s a non-entity and never should have run. He’s a clown. Ted Cruz is unelectable. He looks like a weasel and he sounds like a weasel. I don’t care how much you love him. So who’s left. Scott Walker. That’s all.”

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/04/26/conservative-media-rallies-to-walker-after-tough-talk-on-legal-immigration/

I'm LOL if that's the extent of his analysis and criticism of Ted Cruz or support for Walker. A real deep thinker, that Savage, huh?

Everyone should worry more about themselves and not so much about everyone else. Bully-styled supporters just harm their own cause. Cruz was gracious about Huckabee. Why can’t his supporters be?

My impression of Walker is that he obfuscates and then waffles on important issues. I wanted to like him, but from what I have seen, I am not impressed.

Cruz not only takes a definitive conservative stance, he explains why he is taking that stance in relation to the Constitution. Like Reagan, he is an excellent communicator who helps people understand. His intellectual beliefs are consistent and interrelated. He acts from a well reasoned belief system and a strong moral compass. It is the reason why he can resist D.C. corruption and games. No other candidate comes close.

Whenever anybody says we must unite behind a candidate it raises the question of if he’s that awesome why aren’t we already united behind him.

Because there are at least 10 viable candidates, and no one in a field like that will ever get a majority.

So who wins? Usually the single RINO candidate who gets corporate backing.

See 2008, 2004, 2000, 1996, 1992, 1988, 1976.

It's time we TOOK ACTION to stop this. If it means short-circuiting the "debate," so be it.

Regardless, the RINOs have already short-circuited the debate by rigging the primaries by allowing Democrap crossover voting and lumping a bunch of early states together, giving a huge advantage to the sacrificial RINO of the year.

Besides, no one here needs to learn more about any of these candidates, and the consensus here is Cruz #1 and Walker #2. So let's screw up some courage and pull the trigger this time, instead of letting the RINOs pull the trigger on us.
