It was over 35 years ago. Mrs p6 and I were newly married and still full of carnal desires. One Sunday afternoon we wanted to get out of the house for awhile but having little money we went where admission was low...The Buhl Planetarium and it’s HALL OF SCIENCE!
The hall was huge and dark with few lights except for small spotlights over the dioramas of things like the solar system or Drake oil well.
Few of those even worked and so attendance was always low with very few people scattered around the hall.
Heavy black curtains covered all the walls. As we neared the exit one or both of us had a naughty thought. We ducked behind the curtains near the exit door for an intimate interlude.
One thing we forgot was that a HUGE Van De Graaff machine was just outside hall where we were. Every hour there was a demonstration with the generator shooting long lightning bolts through the air.
It was the top of the hour.
The demonstration began.
I’ll leave the rest to your imagination but we now refer to the unfortunate incident as ...

I believe the higher authority you refer to said “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”. Unless Allah is your higher authority, in which case 15 years is more in line with what one of his followers would be pushing for.
I will admit proposing this sort of activity to my wife on a deserted stretch of beach, long before everyone had a video camera on them at all times. Thirty years later the memory is still fresh and I’m still a little miffed that she wouldn’t go for it.
I’ll volunteer to give her a good spanking.
Gotta wonder if anyone, especially a dad, tried to intervene, to get them to stop. I was ticked at a Hispanic mother in our mall a couple years ago sitting out in broad view breastfeeding what appeared to be at least a year old or more baby. I’ve no problem with public breastfeeding, so long as some modesty is shown by at least covering up your fat breast hanging down, but no, she was completely uncovered. First, I asked: “comprende English?” she replied, yes. Then I told her that was inappropriate, that she should cover herself, and it might be done that way in Mexico, but not the custom in America! I don’t know if she did understand, but I got it “off my chest.”... pun intended.
The couple? Were they a "couple" or was it a transactional event?
What do you think war criminal? Life in prison maybe? 10 years hard labor? How about stoning!!!
Sorry, but community service and 30 days is not even a slap on the wrist.
If they had been caught fooling around on the beach at 2am, sure, but in broad daylight at a family vacation spot, no way I’d remotely consider anything that light.
If they get away with just that, then others will almost certainly do it.

Eternity is far more than 15 years, which I’m sure they would much prefer over the former.

If they had been caught smoking Meth on the beach, they’d be looking at 30 days, plus community service, plus probation.

I have never understood a fun of this thing as far as sand is a substance which is certainly incompatible with such an activity but 15 years is beyond unreasonable.
They do deserve some sort of punishment like maybe a dozen hours of lectures on morals but not this harsh.
