'Hot Chocolate lead singer Errol Brown has died aged 71, his manager has said.

Brown had liver cancer and died at his home in the Bahamas, said Phil Dale.

Hot Chocolate had hits in more than 50 countries worldwide, including You Sexy Thing - which Brown co-wrote - It Started with a Kiss and Every One's a Winner.

Brown was made an MBE by the Queen in 2003 and received an Ivor Novello award for his outstanding contribution to British music in 2004.

Back in January, Moog released a PR that they were going to once again produce their classic modular analog synthesizers.

I got to reading various webpages as a result, and came across some really interesting stuff regarding the very distinctive Roland GR-500 guitar synthesizerused on Every 1s A Winner. It's amazing... there are some fascinating YouTube videos of the operation of that particular guitar controller that really are worth seeing... and I am not a guitarist.

I can't find a way to give a non-mobile link to the guy's YouTube channel but search YouTube for "Roland GR-500 GS-500 1970s Analog Guitar Synth"... the poster's name is "Wayne Joness".

I didn’t know “Hot Chocolate” was a British band.

Yes, they were a soul band, even if the famous late 70s hits were leaning more to disco-soul/disco pop.

Their beat was disco, not remotely related to traditional soul.

Soul was always slow dancing.

The real shocker for me was "Heatwave" being a British band.
