Full Headline: Texas gunman's former lawyer: FBI investigation made him 'a better criminal'

The former lawyer for Elton Simpson, one of two gunmen who were killed Sunday after opening fire outside a Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, says an FBI investigation that led to a 2011 conviction for Simpson probably made him "a better criminal."

“He learned that they were following him,” Kristina Sitton, who represented Simpson in the previous case, told the New York Times. “He learned how not to attract suspicion. He learned how to be a better criminal.”

If the FBI was following him, were they just standing by and waiting for him to massacre the people at the event?

Thank GOD for the Patriot Police Officer who rid us of these scum!

Begs the question as to when law enforcement would have intervened had they been more keenly aware of the 9/11 perpetrators activities. At what point would the perpetrators have broken the law in a manner that manifestly requires action, and what kind of action would it be? Did they anything besides box cutters in their carry on bags?

Yes, indeed. Mr. Simpson became such an adroit criminal mastermind that he ended up dead, with his mission woefully incomplete.

Seriously, though...how good a criminal does his former attorney think this guy was, anyway? A competent criminal avoids physical harm as well as apprehension. This clown accomplished neither.

"Converting to Islam seemed like a good thing for him," she said. "He had been going down a bad path and then he found Islam."

looks like he was still going down a bad path..that's like saying, "I'm overweight, so I bought 3 dozen donuts to eat alone."

“He had been going down a bad path and then he found Islam.”

That’s called jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. Hellfire in his case.
