The Baltimore police investigation into the death of a black man from injuries sustained in police custody fails to support some charges filed by the city prosecutor, CNN reported on Thursday.
Citing officials briefed on the separate probes by prosecutor Marilyn Mosby and police into the death of Freddie Gray, the television news network said the lack of support for charges from the police findings could allow lawyers representing the officers to undercut the prosecution.
Gray, 25, sustained spinal injuries after being arrested, and his death on April 19 sparked protests and a day of arson and looting in the largely African American city.
Mosby charged six officers on Friday with counts ranging from false imprisonment to manslaughter and second-degree murder. She made her announcement hours after the state medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and a day after police turned over their findings about Gray's arrest.
Officials familiar with the probes say the homicide investigation run by police at most contemplated a manslaughter charge, not second-degree murder as Mosby charged one of the officers, Caesar Goodson...

Based on reports I’ve read, that kind of ragdoll act was Freddie’s standard M.O. They said he always claimed he needed medical attention and was a real drama queen each time he was arrested. Guess he cried “Wolf” one time too many.

He could even stand a second or two on his own with a bad back injury because in many cases folks in an accident with bad back injuries have been known to walk or stagger for help unassisted.
I stand by my theory that he was injured prior to being assisted into the van.
At any rate, the jerky video is not 100% clear as to the state of his body at any time....and the perp's defense can drive a van through the prosecutor's conclusions of any sort gleaned from the tape.
No evidence-supported conclusion on whether he was catastrophically hurt before or after being loaded into the vehicle is important because "no conclusion" of where he was injured will seriously pull the rug out from under SA Marilyn Moby Dork's definitive assertion he was killed by something happening INSIDE the van.
The more all her assertations can be questioned, thrown doubt on, or de-bunked, the better for the 6 officers.

You’re exactly right. One doctor was consulted for a “Jefferson Fracture”. This type of fracture frequently occurs from falls. It can also occur from hyper extension, such as what might occur in an attempt to clear the airway and intubate. There is no way to rule out injury during medical treatment at this point. The unconsciousness and all the other symptoms Gray had (breathing difficulty, convulsions, cardiac arrest, coma) are consistent with heroin overdose.
is there somewhere a concise brief explanation of HOW Freddie died?.....people get head injuries all the time..they don’t all just die....and 2ndly, was the spinal cord injury from hitting his head in the cop van?...is there any proof anywhere how it happened?...

My first thought as well. I’d like to know what cracker jack box she got her law degree from because this woman has absolutely no idea what the hell she is doing. What I could ascertain before her insane rantings to the rioters about it being “our time”, was that she was basically charging the cops with a seat belt violation but ranting about a seat belt violation being equal to murder, something or other like that.

I'm sorry to be so dismissive of some of these college graduates, but there is NO way a good number of them had vigorous educations.
That’s what I been asking all week. They are withholding it because they know there is absolutely no case there and they are afraid the Obama sons will start rioting again once the truth comes out.
