Yeah, that doesn’t look good at all. That type of plane should have been able to glide onto the freeway if he had engine trouble or issues. Probably tried to turn around and get back to the airport and stalled. Once a plane stalls it becomes a rock and Gravity is not your friend....

This happened no more than 3/4 a mile from where I am.

It took off from an airport right next to where I work.

Prayers for the four souls who perished.

There was a cellphone video of the actual burning, the flames were intense and violent, no way anyone could have done anything.

Exactly. Well called. The witnesses saw him bank hard, then nose up hard to try to gain altitude. Result? Stall.

It was a fatal decision, he needed to trade what little altitude he had for speed.

Do you know if they have a flight school there? It is the same type aircraft TransPac Aviation Academy uses here in AZ. They train a lot of foreign commercial pilots for Airlines in other countries.

Yep, that sounds like a classic stall scenario. Bad decision, I would hope I would choose to put down on the freeway, even with a lot of traffic, but in a panic situation I don't know. They train you over and over on this, but most stall training is done at 5000 ft not 500 ft.

This was not 500 ft, this was more like 50 ft. He just missed clipping a lightpole. All his training left and he went nose-up for altitude. He panicked.

They do. They train bi-plane, too. Maybe helicoptor. Almost no foreign nationals, though. It's an extremely busy airport. Nothing like Hartfield, but 500 flights a month. During the daylight it is one after another.

Exactly. And this doesn’t capture the ferocity of the flames. A video of the scene, taken moments after impact, showed flames so intense they reminding me of 4th-of-July sparklers. These were no lazy campfire-style flames, these were violent and intense.
