challenging Dell, Gateway 2000, Compaq and even IBM. They lost, and got bought out by Compaq,

I live in Silicon Valley and that’s not what I recall. HP is the one who bought COMPAQ. Carly was turning around HP but got into a conflict with one of the Packard kids. If you want to know more about the kids, just look into the activities of the Packard foundation—total left wing crap.

The guy that the HP board hired as the new CEO was fired a few years later for banging a subordinate, paying off people with company funds and other dishonest and unethical activities. That shows what poor judgement they had.

That’s good to know, and thanks for setting me straight!

When I left the States to go overseas in 1991, there were a large amount of very competitive PC makers—when I returned Stateside in 1997, there were only a few left standing.

I did switch over to PCs and servers then, and even got my MCSE in 1998.
