Morning! It was lovely. Did shopping for some plants for the garden - tomatoes, eggplant, sweet potatoes and some flowers, and I did some much-needed clothes shopping. Then, Mr S and son made DIL and I dinner. Pork loin with porabello mushrooms, broccoli and cheese rice, and mushroom/garlic greenbeans and then ice cream-filled crepes with strawberries for dessert. Wow! It was so good!

Wow! And as a coinky dinky I had been planning a pork loin dinner for Mrs p6 as a surprise. But before I got started Daughter called and wanted us to come to her cook out. Mrs 6 went but I stayed home. Since I didn’t cook it gave me a chance to catch up on some work on the truck.

All in all it was a nice day.

Good morning n’@!

Sounds like we all had nice Mothers Days!

I had to work, we were swamped BUT THAT is so GOOD! After being on unemployment, ANY flicker of job security is reassuring. My feet can stop hurting next winter...

We went to daughter’s house. Son in law cooked (he is amazing). He is starting to build a deck next weekend (our two younger sons are his “labor”). He can’t wait for a space for a grill!

Next to youngest son starts his internship today. It’s paid! He’ll have money left above book money next semester...we are finally starting to see a way out of our financial “hole.”

Not last, but I wanted to share. Last week we saw the motorcade for the Ligionier police officer going down rt 30. They kept the lights green for the procession. It was sobering to see the long line of motorcycle and police cars. Officer Erslary is survived by his wife and six very young children. I keep thinking of that family.

Glad all the Moms had nice days.

I’m about to be a “victim” of Obamacare. My company sent out an email on Friday that our plan is a “Cadillac” plan and to avoid the 40% taxation, we have to change plans. We are switching 6/1, but no details on costs, except $1500 individual and $3000 family deductible.
Here’s what makes me mad - they didn’t have to switch until 2017/2018 to avoid the 40% tax per the law (I researched). This change is being made purely to save money and Obamacare is the excuse.
I know we’re trying to sell our company and streamlining costs is part of that, but don’t lie to us.

So far we have our same plan, but I don’t know if that will change or not. Right now, our deductible is 250.00, and a $30.00 co-pay. I don’t dare hope that it will stay that way. This whole obamacare thing stinks to high heaven. We can only hope that the next president is a republican, and one who is determined to get rid of - or at least greatly weaken - the obamacare scam.

Oh my...that’s awful. And such short notice too!

We fear we will face the same issues in the Fall when PaDad has to select plan for 2016. Not sure if we are considered “Cadillac” but, since PaDads heart attack 5 yrs ago, we have ALWAYS selected the “top” plan. Which has gone up every year during the 5 year period both payroll deduction wise and co-pay wise.

Just read something (over the weekend) about “watching the language.” Neither the Rs or Hillary! Are using “middle class” as a reference point any more...why? Because we are getting squeezed downward.

We’re now the “W” class - working Or the “WT” class, working/taxed.

Luckily, I have $1800 in an HSA from my last job, so I’m partially set to meet a deductible - this year. Knock on wood, we’re fairly healthy and not on any RX. Just trying to fix the hubby’s shoulder/neck. Argh!

Ok, at least I know it wasn’t just me....

With the storms last night, I wonder if Quinn’s studio is without power this am.

Perhaps, that explains sneakers not posting today’s thread, too...
