The Obama administration on Monday ordered all insurers to provide IUDs, the contraceptive patch and other birth control free of out-of-pocket charge to all women, rewriting the rules after reports that some insurance carriers were refusing to cover all types of contraceptives. Insurers must cover at least one brand of contraception in each of 18 different methods outlined by the Food and Drug Administration, such as oral contraceptive pills, the emergency contraceptive morning-after pill and intrauterine devices. Insurers can in some cases still impose costs to prod women to use generics rather than brand-name drugs, under the new guidance — but if

I am amazed that the insurance companies aren't fighting this. But then again, the game is rigged so that they can keep losing money and the taxpayer will automatically bail them out via some special sauce reinsurance formula.

“I am amazed that the insurance companies aren’t fighting this.”

In the current media environment, are you kidding?

The streets are already littered with carcass’s of the wrecked careers of people who have dared to stand up to this stuff.

No matter who steps up and says “Enough”, there won’t be enough of us supporting them. We’re too busy working for a living, Raising families, yada, yada, which are all just excuses for apathy.

And the people forcing this crap down our throats know that, too.

Isn’t this what Hobby Lobby went to court fighting against - and won?

These drugs/devices are really quite cheap. The large drug & ins cos are probably making a calculation to keep their heads down & their gravy train going. The contraceptive thing is a touchstone thing for Dems/libs/stupid women. If you’ve seen the zealousness of easily 90% of women towards contraception (and I am not at all including abortion or morning after) this is a massive vote-getter. They’ve been instructed.

So does this mean that it is the official position of the federal government that all birth control is now the woman’s responsibility? Because they are requiring women to receive birth control for free, but do not require the same for men.

If that is true, then child support should be radically changed.

Not exactly. Hobby Lobby fought the requirement that they pay for including certain forms of birth control as part of the insurance they provided for their employees. In this case, HHS is telling insurers that they have to provide free birth control, even if the employer is not paying for it in their plan...

I don't think so. That was about abortion drugs. Hobby Lobby said they provided contraception, but drew the line at abortifacients.

One more freebie for taxpayers to pay for. Nothing is free, and Obamacare proves that. This little experiment in Fascism gets more expensive by the day.
