Neither did Payton..goodell said ignorance is no excuse and banned him from the ENTIRE NFL for the season..Payton couldn’t even buy a ticket to see Atlanta play Seattle. Plus this is Belichick’s second offense (spygate) in which a first round pick was surrendered..that should have been taken into account.
Still the “bounty-gate” charges (whatever the truth) are exponentially more serious in my opinion.
