California has not seen anything quite like this in at least 1,200 years...

So, it’s been worse?

Meh. Imagine you have saved a bunch of money for a vacation and then your car blows its engine out of warranty. Goodby vacation, hello fixed engine.

i.e. goodby high speed rail, hello water desalinization.

Who was recording conditions 1200 years ago.
Also we had no major populations here then, it took getting water rights originally to even get permission to expand southern California which Jerry Brown to my memory gave back in the 70s during his first terms as jerk.

It was worse as recently as 1942-1956. Michael Snyder is the editor of a sky is falling down website with no more credibility than the climate change pimps.

This is a flat out lie. Actually, up until about 300 years ago, drought was the norm for California, including one drought that lasted more than 50 years and another that lasted 140 years (although those droughts WERE about 1000 years ago). But it has only been the past few hundred years that the amount of precipitation we grew up expecting became a routine pattern. So it appears that we are just going back to what had been the normal climate for this region.
