He says the American public should be less worried about privacy and should back increased collection as a means of foiling terrorist attacks. Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee said Wednesday that "it's beyond belief how little data is a part of the program."...Senate leaders have introduced a bill that would allow the NSA to continue collecting phone records.

What a moron.

We should never give the government any more power than we want it to have if run by the worst of men for the worst of reasons.

The IRS was a perfect example of violating the rights of Citizens, and nothing has happened yet. Maybe our elected leaders think it's a-ok now since the rule of law doesn't exist for them. <> That is a frighteningly concise assessment.

Cruz is on top of the whole IRS premise, and is on offense: he wants to abolish it. That's my kind of conservative.

ON THE OTHER HAND, he voted for the Corker Iran Bill (I admit I am fuzzy on it) and explained why, as familyops linked here.

On a broader scope, it just reinforces how I look and see that Republicans are so often on board with Democrats on a basic premise that I being Republican reject because it the antithesis of limited government and the conservative use of government. I vote Republican to STOP that stuff, not readapt it.

Yet ... what am I really voting for when I vote Republican? Nixon established the EPA, for crying out loud. A Republican created one of the most hideous tyrants in the Federal government. Obamacare and Romneycare were twins in concept of bigger, heavier government and more tyranny. Republican, Democrat -- any color you want as long as it's red.

Seriously!

What does the party even stand for?

I can only suppose the answer is the lesser of two evils. It's been a gradual
boiling of Americans to get where we are now, in the Frog analogy.

2014 was supposed to be a turning point but the GOP has doubled down
and shown their disdain and arrogance towards Integrity. A very
sad state of affairs.

When probable terrorists are identified, with the present surveillance model, nothing (apparently) is done.

The boston bombers were ID’d prior to their evil deed, nothing was done.

At least one of the Texas cartoon shooters were identified.

No, we don’t need less privacy/more monitoring, we need more action to toss out probable terrorists that we identify.

This federal gub mint has too much power and control already.
Time to disband about 72 percent of it as it already is.

They leave the borders open and then want to tighten security on US inside America? Nice work if you can get it.

I won’t go for it...ever...

The voters of Tennessee would strongly take issue on that one. Granted, he may be a worthless sack of shit. But he is their sack of shit, warts and all, and they are proud of him.

Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee

This particular Democrat in an R jersey is dangerous. He spearheaded the effort to get Obama’s Iran nuclear deal through the Senate that will remove the 2/3 vote normally required of treaties.

And that, in a nutshell, is what is wrong with the republic. The love of ones particular politician when they might “bring home the bacon” (at all the rest of our expense) but play wild and loose with the constitution at large.
