but we will give him a trial for jury, and then after we convict him,
he should be hung by the neck until dead!
A fair trial before judgment isn't murder.

But threatening to kill a US Senator is a little too Weather Underground for me. I draw a distinction between "threatening to kill" a public official and calling for that official to be tried and punished for treasonous behavior.

The way I read it was he wanted him to be subjected to a trial, if found guilty, then the appropriate punishment applied.
