Every 7 to 12 years, somebody wheels out Joe Namath to make a comment on something current in the football world. He makes his statement, then he sort of disappears again. I seem to recall a few years back, with Joe making a lot of inappropriate comments the women did not like. He always seems to be only so much in focus. Jose Canseco is the same way for another generation.

Joe was one heck of a QB and I don’t think he is dumb.

When this controversy first broke, someone (MSNBC?) had Joe Thiesmann in to comment. He ran down to Redskins Park, had them deflate some balls and threw them. He said that he couldn’t tell the difference.
Most Jet fans are happy to point out that the Pats’ successes are tainted by a culture of cheating. They wont agree with Namath’s comments.
