Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leads the field of Republican presidential hopefuls, but a pack of GOP contenders are gaining on the frontrunner in the latest survey from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.
The poll released Wednesday found Walker in the lead for the GOP 2016 nomination with 18 percent support, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at 13 percent, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Dr. Ben Carson at 12 percent each, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 11 percent, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at 10 percent and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) at 9 percent.

I am extremely hard on Rubio to the point that even in a GE, I would abstain for the first time ever. As I’ve posted before, at the 2010 FL 4th kickoff event in Lake City, he lied when asked specifically about immigration. He said secure the border before anything else happens and when it does, no amnesty of any kind.
The as soon as he gets to DC, he chums it up with a piece of legislation, with his name as the author, with McCain, Graham, Schumer, Durbin and whoever the other losers were as the Gang of 8. Did anyone ever notice that McCain is always part of a gang? Gang of 14 reference.
Public polls are no longer to be trusted as UK and Israel’s recent elections would indicate - they’re simply election advertising/propaganda.
I’d love to see Cruz’ internals.
Does he seem worried?
Does Cruz seem worried? Not in the least bit.
As I stated, these polls are propaganda meant to push a candidate. Most are associated with leftist groups - “Caveat emptor”.
I simply do not trust any published poll - the phrase “jumping the shark” comes to mind.
...and Cruz just lays low, pretty much under the radar.
Nice.
Look up “Huckabee Tacoma” to find out how easy it is to get to the right of Huckabee - even Hillary could, legitimately, bash him on it.
But there will always be some number of people that hear that Mike is a “Christian” and that’s good enough for them.
“Well said, but Im not as hard on Rubio as many here.”
Perhaps if Rubio led the charge to increase funding for the School Lunch Program a lot of us would consider forgiving him now. But Amnesty, like gun control, is a LITMUS TEST issue, and Rubio failed it BIG TIME:
1) He said he was against it as a candidate
2) He immediately supported it once in office
3) He LED THE CHARGE for it and nearly got it into law
4) He gave dozens of Republicans political cover on the issue
It will be a LONG TIME before he recovers from the above...his best bet is to lay low and be a good conservative, which he has been on just about every other issue. And then, maybe in 12 years, look again at running for office. I would certainly consider him then.
If you are referring to Walker, then you are really confused. There are many here (mostly Cruzers) that say he isn't conservative enough, but I don't think I have heard anyone claim he is a RINO. He sure signs a lot of conservative bills for someone who isn't conservative.
Unless, of course, you meant it in a positive way. . .
Polls are crap until the election.
I don’t understand the Rubio supporters, either!
the UK election showed what you can do with POLLS.......
Until we get a lot closer to an actual primary, I have a hard time buying the concept of someone leading in the race. Anything can happen once the campaign starts in earnest.
Um...just so we’re CLEAR here - Governor Walker hasn’t even ANNOUNCED that he’s RUNNING...for ANYTHING!
And he STILL leads the pack. *SMIRK*
Love My Gov - but I’m starting to think that the current self-destructive America we live in may not deserve him. :)
Your Governor is my favorite!
Any guess as to when he’ll announce?
In your opinion....Is sooner rather than later better?
He says he’s going to finish up our budget first, then decide. So, June time-frame.
We shall see! :)
