It’s actually pretty believable, if he hit his head in the derailment, that his short term memory would basically have been erased for the minutes leading up to the crash. That said, what the hell was he doing? How do you go 110, driving a train, where the limit is 50? prison

I would normally agree with you BUT according to the article, it was stated that he said his cell phone was off and in a bag. He remembered taking it out and dialing 911. I’ve been in a vehicle accident where I was knocked unconscious and suffered a head injury. My memory of the accident is blurry at best.. I remember sliding.. that is all. I have no recollection of anything else.. if the radio was on, what I was thinking, what I was doing before hand or after. IMHO, to remember the cell phone issue before the accident and immediately afterwards.. puts doubt in my mind that he doesn’t recall a thing about the accident itself (either beforehand or afterward).
