I really think he has no memory, and I think the train was shot or had objects tossed at it. There is a discussion over on trainorders.com.

Anyhow, I have no skin in the game, but I don’t think he should be judged so soon. Lots of unanswered questions.

Awesome locomotive though, 70 to 106 in 45s :) What you can do with good engineering (3 phase traction motors, traction control software) and the entire North East grid to sink into your motors.

Are they saying that possibly the striking of an object caused the train to accelerate to 106 mph while approaching a curve?
