Actually most modern mercenaries aren't entirely mercenary. Back during the Cold War, there were lots of mercs who'd fight for any anti-Communist regime that paid them enough, but only for anti-Communist regimes. I suspect more or less the same lot will now fight counter-jihad, and only counter-jihad, again for enough pay.
