It most certainly does not. If the “projectile” had hit the “engineer” would he have been capable while going into shock...of accidently mishandling the throttle? Id think he would have released his grip on the throttle.

Or maybe he accelerated to get away from whatever the source of the projectiles was. If so, it was damn reckless and, if anything, makes him look worse.
