The US prison in Leavenworth has kept a couple of cow and 1 Male Bison in a large fenced area on the west side of the main Prison with a viewing area. Occasionally the cows calve and when weaned the calves are moved to the main herd at Ft Riley. while removing the momma and baby, the momma decided she didn't like trailers and ran off, it took 7 riders and a crushed Associate Wardens Volkswagen to get momma under control in 5 hours or so ,fun and lots of stories.

Off topic, but everytime I see something about Leavenworth I'm reminded of a dentist wifey and I had for a bit less than a year.....he'd been a Navy dentist early in his career.

One day we picked up the paper and saw that his "past" had been revealed to the medical board, and he was getting his license yanked for three or four years.

Turns out he had a thing for pre-pubescent little girls and did some discrete photography for his computer....got caught and did a couple of years at the Fort.

Funny thing is, wife and I both kinda figured he was gay - turns out his pecadillo was a different variant.
